Everything was excellent about my stay. The staff was super welcoming and helpful. The fresh Italian vegetarian dishes were delicious, so as were the breakfasts. Our clothes got cleaned the same night after coming back from our long dirty hike and we weren't charged. The interior design is absolutely gorgeous and sitting by the fireplace in the evening with fellow travelers was so nice. You can hear your neighbors when in the room and the noise is very loud when it rains, but that's a minor thing. Wi-Fi is also good, both in the rooms as in the rest of the place. Make sure to have some cash or MoMo in case the payment machine doesn't work. Will for sure recommend or come back when I'm in the area.

Accueil très professionnel, convivial, attentif et attentionné. Un lodge par client qui garde son intimité sans être dérangé par les voisins. Les repas sont tops !

Amazing place. I have stayed here 3 times now, most of the times because I was going for a hike in Volcanoes National Park. If you don’t want to spend high amounts of money, if you want comfortable beds, delicious food and drinks, and a peaceful garden to relax in, this is the place to be :). They also have a sauna and offer massages. They have a lovely fireplace to make the living room even cozier.

La Locanda is approximately a 20 minute drive from the Volcanoes National Park HQ so it’s ideal for those visiting the park. Since La Locanda is situated in Musanze, you can also explore the city and have a great lunch in the neighborhood (Migano, Crema or Gabels Garden)

LaLocanda is arguably the best place to stay in Musanze (if you don’t want to spend 1.500-2000 USD for a night in the luxury lodges). I paid 68000 RWF a night for a single room with a private bathroom and breakfast + dinner included. The entire place is super clean, and the common area is beautiful with a garden, flowers and a lot of light.
Also it is the first place in Rwanda that didn’t try to sell me some extra tours and when I asked they provided with cheap options or gave me Tipps on how to hitchhike…

Fantastic place to stay when preparing or reminiscing your trip up the volcano mountains. Really enjoyed the hospitality here with the famous Italian touch meaning great food and lovely wines. Next to all the niceness the WiFi is really good and the place is very secure. Oh and I almost forgot to mention the spa/sauna!
