Beautiful place to stay with a large group or host an event (with the owner’s permission of course). There are rooms that are close together and also some rooms which are more secluded for people who want more privacy. There is a local taverna less than one minute walk away. Housekeeping is included in the rental price. Yorghy, the owner, is so helpful and kind.

We stayed here seven years ago and have never forgotten this amazing Venetian castle, re-imagined as a light-filled, design-forward showplace by a daring architect some decades ago, which still feels fresh and impeccably well finished. Yorghi the proprietor couldn’t have been more helpful and hospitable. He went way beyond expectations by showing us points of interest in Maroulas and Rhythymon and even introduced us to local characters. The vine-draped 15th-century arches over surrounding walkways, ancient sites and walkable local eateries make this place feel truly magical, and the castle itself is quite comfortable.

I hesitate to post glowing reviews because we will come back. Yorgi is the most amazing host, his place is incredible. We had dinner cooked for us the day we arrived and it was ridiculously delicious. His knowledge of the island is vast and recommendations are spot on.
