Nice restaurant, right at the center of Pitsidia village. Family owned , with a wood fired pizza oven. Had the luck to dine with very nice live music. The service was fast and the staff was polite and helpful. We didn't like all the appetizers we got , but the pizzas were amazing. The owner was very friendly and talkative.

Es war Sonntag abends mit sehr angenehmer Livemusik. Richtig voll war es nicht, dennoch war der Service etwas schleppend. Uns wurde ein Tisch angeboten, der in der Nähe der Musiker lag. Leider entpuppte sich der Bereich als die Raucherzone. Da man aber auf einer überdachten Terrasse sitzt, ging es noch in Ordnung, dass die Gäste um einen herum beim Essen rauchten. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis okay.

It's always going to slightly annoy me when the size of the main meal is the same as the appetiser but costs twice as much. So, for starters we had grilled mushrooms (not bad but a bit too balsamic) and aubergine boureki, which I can't really describe as bad, but it lacked flavour. Usually, two appetisers and one main are enough for us, because the main is usually BIIIIG, but here we ordered the giant beans in tomato sauce (gigantes) and it was TINY. 10 euros. Mind you, it did taste the best of all the dishes we tried here, including the stale bread (toasted). Won't be coming back.

One of the best places to eat while you visit Matala and the region. The food is awesome and also don't miss the nights where they have live music! Except from pizzas, which is their specialty, don't hesitate to order traditional Greek dishes like moussaka. If you visit Heraclion for a business trip, like i did, spending some time there if you feel like driving a bit, is one of the best choices.

The worst food we had in Crete in years!
We ordered pastitsio and burger and they were both bland and tasteless. The pastitsio had a weird kind of minced meat and awful taste. The same the burger, which was accompanied by frozen precooked chips. Absolutely a place for the unsuspected tourist. Unfortunately, we’re Greeks and we were caught unawares as the place was teeming with people. For us, though, this was the worst eating experience we had in years!
The only positive aspect was the kind and smiling waitresses.

Εναλλακτικό ταβερνάκι με ωραία φαγητά και καλές τιμές. Ωραία ατμόσφαιρα, ίσκιος παχύς, φιλικό προσωπικό. Πολύ καλύτερα από τα τουριστικά στα Μάταλα.

Posto molto carino. Preso souvlaki di pollo, saganaki e pizza più 2mithos per 26€. La pizza ottima (difficile trovare piatti italiani buoni in Grecia), il titolare orgoglioso di dire che suo nonno era calabrese. Cibo ottimo e prezzo giusto. A fine cena piccolo tiramisù e raki offerti. Consigliato
