CHAYOTE LODGE

What a beautiful experience :-) super nice lodges, super kind staff and great food - and an amazing sunset, we really loved everything!

Ich habe mein iPad auf unserer Tour hier vergessen. Mir wurde dieses ohne Kosten ins Hotel nach San José geschickt. Vielen Dank für diesen perfekten Service. Ansonsten hatten wir einen schönen Aufenthalt in der Lodge.

We were expecting a lodge but this place is so much more. It’s beautiful and worth a stop for a night or two. The lodge rooms are spacious, clean and well decorated. The furniture is made from arabica trees and coffee sacks are used for decoration throughout. There is also fresh coffee in the rooms for guests to make as well as extra blankets, heaters, tea, hot water, a mini fridge etc. The view from the balcony is the best part - you can see down to San Jose, the volcanoes and the coffee plantations and then you can watch the classic Costa Rica cloud cover roll in which is moody and peaceful and really relaxing. It’s definitely off the beaten track, remote and much more quiet than the other places we stayed in Costa Rica but it was a good “pause button” for one night in between La Fortuna and Puerto Viejo. We ate at the hotel restaurant which is a beautiful structure, much more well done than we expected - a big wooden room with a fireplace and views. Dinner was good, not the best but convenient, breakfast was better. The staff were welcoming and friendly. They also organised tours for us the next morning so we could see most of Naranjo and the coffee plantations before checking out. The tours were good but very expensive. We had a misunderstanding on the price and were very shocked when we found out the total.
