LADY ELLIOT ISLAND ECO RESORT

No air conditioning in some of the rooms, which makes it hard to sleep at night

This place is magical, the rooms are all eco friendly so don't expect 5 star but the food is plentiful and the staff very friendly and helpful. The snorkelling is an experience you will never forget.

I was there for a weekend for work. during down time there was plenty of time to go diving, or just walk around the island to explore. The birdlife there is spectacular as is the marine life. Morning ocean sunrises on the east side of the island, then in the afternoon head to the west side with your champers or other drinks to watch the sun set over the ocean. it's quite a treat to see the sun setting over the ocean. I know this doesn't happen often, but if you get a chance to go to the top of the lighthouse, do it. it's a view you will never forget. there is mobile phone reception, but only within 50 or so meters from the tower. Trust me though, you will not need phone reception. enjoy the quietness of not having your phone ring or messages coming through every 5 seconds. put your phone away and enjoy the island life.... the food served up on the island is awesome and basically non stop. top compliments to the chef and all staff on Lady Elliott Island. You can only get there by either boat or plane. The flight is breath takingly beautiful. By boat from June to November, you will so many Humpback whales right next to you. you just need to see this spectacular. I highly recommend lady Elliott Island Eco Resort, and so will you after staying there. I have previously posted photos, go have a look in the photo tab

Good food, nice accommodation and excellent staff

The island is simply amazing with manta rays and tons of turtles at the lagoon. We love the guided reef walk too. We were so lucky to have a little chick of Red-Tailed Tropic Bird in front of our cottage.The bird life and marine life are both fantastic around the island. However, the room is basic but the the view from the room is amazing. The food is simple but quite decent. Would recommend someone fancy a off-beat vacation with good snorkeling.
