We had booked a table on the advice of Santorini Dave with the intention of having dinner in Oai after hiking from Fira. We were definitely enthusiastic for food and drinks by the time we arrived. But, it took us a few days of reflection (& reading the 1* reviews) before we decided to write this review.
We were in such good spirits after the hike that we sort of didn’t pay attention and happily accepted food recommendations and drank wine with abandon.
The fish - maybe it was off season? - and the chicken were both over-cooked and not as good as other places in Santorini. What was good were the dips served with bread, capers and beets.
In retrospect, we all sort of noticed the slightly off / sour attitude of the person serving us. And realized that although the food was good - it was not great - and it turned out to be way more expensive than other places we dined at in Santorini.
And like other reviews, we had to go up to the register to pay. Every other place we visited has the hand held pos.

This was our absolute favorite restaurant in while in Greece! It had the perfect combination of great food and impeccable service. The owner of the restaurant took his time to explain everything to us. We felt like we were a guest in his home rather than a customer. This place is great and I would higly reccomend it!

Very rude owners and staff. We were already siting at the table and they came to take an order. We were planing to have just appetiser, wine and desert. They immediately told us that we must order at least for 50 euros. It was low season and half tables were empty, so I asked why. The answer was even more appalling - "don't tell me how to run my business". We stood up and left. Spent more than that at nearby place.
The food is tasty and the vibes are traditional greek.
