I was walking in Aristotle Square and I saw a HiLux with interesting mountaineering gear. I asked what they were doing. They were canyoning on Mt Olympus. Wow, I said, can I come? Yes! So, we drove to Olympus and hiked up a the canyon. Nikos had all the necessary safety equipment and it was top quality in good condition. Nikos gave the safety training and the rest was pure joy. You need 3 ingredients to enjoy canyoning: Water; Rock; and Gravity. We had it all and more. As a bonus, Nikos has a great understanding of Greek Mythology and History. As we hiked, he explained about many of the gods of Greece and about the time after WWII. It was a tragic period. But, it's important not to forget. It was a great day. I look forward to doing it again soon.
