I was so disappointed after having walked past this place over the last few days and reading the reviews. The restaurant is in a lovely setting right on the waterfront so we had high hopes. Sadly the service was very poor. We waited over an hour for our food, which was a challenge with two young children. We didn’t receive any bread for the table until 1 minute before the food arrived and there was no table water. There were cats everywhere running around inside the restaurant, which doesn’t bother me personally but the woman next to us was terrified and clearly it will have affected her evening. I had stuffed pork; the pork itself was nice and tasty but the cheese inside was cold. My children had grilled chicken and chips - can’t complain about that, they ate it up. Some of the other dishes coming out looked very nice. I think to be fair to the restaurant they were completely understaffed and busier than expected. The service would have been better if there were more staff. Even still, bring us some bread and butter or complementary drinks or an apology or something - over an hour is a long time to wait for food.

Najbolji vlasnik najboljeg restorana u Cavtatu koji je jako druzeljubiv, ljubazan i duhovit te uvijek podigne atmosferu. Od hrane koja je uvijek pre dobra do usluge koja je jos bolja. Polozaj restorana je predivan.

Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in the world. Here you will get true Croatian meals cooked to your liking. Love the table side prep and service. The service was over the top. The Tuna tartar tasted superb. Mislabeled and his staff do a phenomenal job with dinner. Take the extra steps to get down to Konoba Galija. You won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend.

Delicious! Really a top quality option in Cavtat! Some beautiful view from the patio and the food was exquisite!

We reserved 4 portions of the suckling pig offered only a couple of days a week and it was the meal of the holiday.

The pork was cooked perfectly, served with roast potatoes from the pig juices and at €24 per person we all left utterly stuffed!

So glad we made the reservation and we will absolutely be back if we're ever in Cavtat again! ♥

The location is super with great views to behold and appreciate!

The gentleman at the door was fantastic. He greeted us inside and to the table and assisted us with lifting the pram up the step. The guys and the girl with the glasses were all so very very nice and friendly and more than willing to help and make our visit very pleasant. They were just super in every way, however the girl with brown/ginger dyed hair was cold, aggressive and not very nice to us at all. My wife asked for the dessert menu and this girl pushed it in my wifes hand aggressively and said "here". And when we asked for assistance a different time, she blanked us coldly and shouted for other staff to help us instead while he posed at the other side of the room

The food was lovely 4 for the steak. It was cooked medium/perfectly but a little over tenderised.

We ordered the bbq veal ribs and a skewer, which had chicken, pork and beef. The food wasn't great.

I understand restaurants slow cook ribs then reheated to order. I think the slow cook part was a few days old, and they were served warm.

Chicken on Skewer was OK. The beef and pork tasted like something that was lying around your fridge for a few days and about to go off or maybe thawed from frozen..

Pork and beef on a charcoal bbq is simple stuff, we were left very surprised with the result of our dining.

Mariana (sorry if spelling is wrong) was our excellent waitress for 3 out of our 4 visits to this wonderful restaurant. She was highly attentive and very friendly to us. The food here is incredibly good. The platter for 2 is a sight to behold. Octopus, squid, anchovies, prosciutto, cheese, Olives and fish roe. There are beautiful red Croatian wines. The Plausus was an excellent red. Would highly recommend this restaurant. And thank you again Mariana for your patience and kindness.

Perfect, basically sums this place up.

The service was quick, attentive, and exactly as you would want. The food was phenomenal, cooked on an open bbq feet away from the table.

I had smoked ham pasta to start, followed by Veal bbq ribs. Both outstanding, perfect portion.

The kids had smoked sausage that they made with fries, other food on the table steak, and mixed kebabs.

The beer was very good also, one of the best I've tried so far while in Croatia.

To give you a guide of how good this place was, we had planned a different place each day, we have changed that to give this place a second night.

Stopped at this restaurant three times during our visit.

The lunch time menu was superb and good value. Every dish we tried was excellent, of a really high standard and beautifully presented.

Drinks were a little more expensive than other restaurants.

Staff were very professional.

It quickly became our favorite it Cavtat. It currently faces a construction site at the port, with an excavator parked in front. But don't let it turn you off. They have good humor about it, embracing the excavator as a unique attraction. The food was consistently very good. The best cevapcici I had anywhere. Their black risotto was also top notch, with perfectly cooked pieces of calamari and shrimp. The grilled octopus and squid were delightful, and the BBQ ribs were also great. Service was very friendly.

En voi suositella missään nimessä kuin palvelua. Reunapöydär täynnä muurahaisia, lautasliinani sisässä oli sentin mittainen musta käärme. Ruoka todella pettymys.
Omistaja tarjosi viinin lohdutukseksi.
Pihvi ja ranskikset 30egee ????, oli siinä voinokare, sipuliviipale ja ehkä 4 rucolan lehteä. Ja paahtoleipä pihvin alla. Herkkusienikastike maksoi jonkun euron lisää. Iso pettymys.

Food was not tasty at all. Very expensive. Inside napkin was one 1-2cm size black snake. On the tables close to wall was plenties ants.
Service was Good. That is all.
Very dissapoint for 30€ beef and animals. Does that beef looks as 30€?

Very nice restaurant. service oriented staff. food is amazing. Can recommend the gorgonzola sauce. Unfortunately, there is a construction site in front of the restaurant at the moment. but it mostly applies to Cavtat's port.

Had a fantastic meal here recently while on holiday, food was excellent, we were served by a young lady who’s name escapes me she was slim with dark hair and had spent some time in USA but she was from Serbia , she was excellent and very friendly and pleasant, we recommend this restaurant to everyone

J'ai mangé avec ma compagne à ce restaurant dont les avis me donnaient envie.j'ai pris un mix grill pour deux et nous avons été très déçu par la viande.tout était trop sec, nous n'avons par la même occasion pas fini de manger.L'accueil n'était pas là,on avait peux être pas la tenue approprié selon eux.Ce qui est dommage car une des serveuses celle avec des lunettes était très aimable et à notre écoute.

We had an excellent experience at Konoba Galija. The high quality of the food coupled with the friendliness of the service made for a nice evening. They even brought us some homemade cherry liqueur at the end of our meal. If you want to experience delicious Dalmatian food and great hospitality, look no further!
