3.5 stars, clean, friendly, and free print out service with cab reservations! The environment is not appropriate for a shopping queen! if staying in a downtown hotel and shopping. Tapas shop around that area.

Highly recommend the Eric Vökel BCN Suites. If available, request to stay on either the 6th floor, or in room 52 (5th floor). The large terraces attached to these two units are simply awesome. I stayed in 52, and spent many hours out on the terrace. It's a great place to have meals. You are surrounded by other folks who live in the neighborhood, hanging out on their outdoor spaces. I'm spoiled now, going on to the next hotel that lacks such a great space. The hotel is less than a 10 minute walk to the basilica, yet the location of the hotel is far away from the tourist crowds.

The after hours check-in worked well. I pre-paid for my room, but the automated check-in would not proceed without charging the room fee again. This wasn't a problem. An email the next day to Andy at the front desk, and the extra charge was sorted within minutes.

On our departure, Andy went above and beyond in helping with my next hotel. He talked to reception for me, and was able to sort out some confusing details regarding the check in process, that I was not able to understand with my very limited Spanish skills. Andy was a great help here, and pleasant throughout our stay.

Again, I can't say enough about this hotel. I'm thankful to the other reviewers who also speak glowingly of the BCN Suites. Take our advice, and choose this place.

Fantastic customer service. Mostly high quality room. The only downside to the Roman were that the curtains were quite thin and let streams of light in. There was also a bit of street noise. Great hotel. Would stay again.

We stayed at the Eric Vökel Sagrada Familia. It was unfortunately a disaster from the beginning when we arrived the flat. It was not thoroughly cleaned the floors dirty and generally disappointing room to arrive at.

Staying at the apartment for several days where the room was not cleaned once and no vacuum to do it yourself.

No way of getting new towels during the stay and we was forced to wash and dry them ourselves. Went down to ask for more toilet paper but the staff said it’s not included and it’s something we needed to buy on our own.

Generally the service was poor, the apartment old and worn out - the sofa bed was horrible. You were better off sleeping on the floor.

Can’t say if this only applies to this specific location in Barcelona, but it’s very overpriced for the apartment, and the service was poor.

But generally the standard was very low compared to other Erik Vökel apartments

We previously stayed at their apartments in Copenhagen and Hamburg, where the standards of the rooms and service where much higher.

Therefore we were very disappointed by the low standard of the flats and service.
