We joined the chef's traditional Zanzibar cooking class using clay pots over charcoal. Cooked and then ate 5 dishes. Excellent. Can't recommend enough. Friendly. Personal. Well paced. Informative.

We had booked this hotel after several days in Zanzibar due to its location. I had received the confirmation email the previous day and when we arrived, we were told that they were fully booked. Excuse me? So from a 4 stars paid hotel, we were invited to move to another hotel of the same owner (3 stars) but far from the desired location. Jafferji hotel had 24h to let us know the problem of our booking but never bothered to let us know. This is the reason of my disappointment with this hotel. The recepcionist, when he saw our disappointment, offered us free lunch or dinner at Jafferji. We had a lovely dinner at the top roof restaurant which had great views.
