There is no doubt that ME is a beautiful hotel. What you do need to know is that they will try to upsell at every opportunity. There are 4 luxury sun beds by the main pool which are in the sun all day. The beds on the other side have sun up until lunchtime and then it’s all shaded. The luxury beds however have a minimum spend of €150, as do the beds on the roof top. If you want to relax in the sun without paying an additional rate on what is already a premium price hotel, this hotel isn’t for you. ME have been clever on how they’ve priced it, leaving you no choice but to pay to lie in the sun, but it was a shame as in early October the beds mostly sat empty all day. I imagine it would be impossible to enjoy this area at peak time, you will struggle to find an empty sun bed. Reception staff were helpful but tried to upgrade us and the rest of our wedding party. It appears to be complimentary but it is costed up after they’ve shown you the better room. We loved the hotel itself but won’t return as the constant money grabbing left a bad taste. Room service on my wedding morning was poor. The coffees we ordered were returned three times as the order wasn’t right. The mini bar wasn’t refreshed and needed continual reminders.
