ZÉFYR CAFÉ RESTAURANT DAS CABANAS DA VISCONDESSA

I can't say enough good things about this place! My wife and I are here during Thanksgiving week, which is in the OFF season for São Jorge island. Out of the six cabins here, we are the only occupants.

That has not diminished the experience in the least! Jorge is an amazing host and the accommodations are beautiful. Everything is clean, everything is functional, and the surrounding landscape is absolutely gorgeous! It's hard to overestimate the importance of a good shower, especially on an island where hiking trails are the major form of recreation. The shower in our cabana is absolutely perfect! The supply of hot water is apparently limitless, and the showerhead is one of those big round ones that really soaks you well. the kitchen is well-outfitted, and everything works as expected. The bed is extremely comfortable – I would like to take it home with me, but I know that's impossible!!

Housekeeping was done by request, and we didn't need any housekeeping while we were here. We actually prefer it that way. However, Jorge made it clear when we arrived that if we needed anything at all, we just had to ask.

I highly recommend both the lodging and the restaurant for anyone who is looking for a little bit of peace and quiet, a very comfortable and unique lodging experience, excellent food, and the best hosts one could ask for.

Um lugar incrível onde, realmente, se consegue relaxar.

No exterior, apenas se ouvem os vários sons da natureza; dentro das cabanas a vista é do verde que nos transporta para esses mesmos sons.
O conforto é total e absoluto. As cabanas estão muito bem isoladas, bem decoradas, os materiais e o mobiliário são de muito boa qualidade, e estão muito bem equipadas. Nenhum pormenor é esquecido nem deixado ao acaso.
Para além disso, fomos muito bem recebidos e a comunicação foi sempre muito fácil e atenciosa.

No restaurante, jantámos muito bem e tomámos um bom pequeno almoço.

A avaliar pelo conforto do espaço, pelo meio envolvente e por toda a simpatia, deverá ser um lugar igualmente agradável para visitar de inverno.

Sentimo-nos mesmo muito bem e já estamos a pensar em que altura poderemos voltar...!

Nous avons louer l'appartement 1 chambre pendant 6 nuits. L'endroit est super paisible entouré de nature un vrai Havre de paix.

L'appartement était très spacieux et la cuisine également. Y cuisiner était agréable avec la vue sur la nature. Il y règne une ambiance, un certain charme il faut y être pour le ressentir.

George le propriétaire était au petit soin et est très facilement joignable au moindre soucis.

Laura & Johan qui tiennent le restaurant sont très chaleureux et savent recevoir. Tout est frais et fait main! Homemade c'est leur signature!

En tout cas le cœur y est et on souhaite qu'il continue d'évoluer et de prospérer un vrai coup de cœur.

Jorge made sure we were properly settled in to his little piece of paradise on the island. The “cabin” itself is more reminiscent of a beautiful cottage, similar to what you’d find in northern Ontario. Spacious, clean, bright, and comfortable. The property is well situated to everything on the island. Zephyr restaurant prepares a great breakfast and dinner service. If you’re looking for a great place to stay on Sao Jorge, this is it!

Edit: and if Jorge’s hospitality wasn’t enough during our stay, when our flight was cancelled and we were stuck on the island, he made sure to take us in!

São Jorge was the last stop on our honeymoon tour of the Azores and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay to round things off! The cabin is cozy, bright and comfortable. Jorge and the kitchen staff were beyond helpful, giving us great ideas of what to do and where to eat. The location is absolutely stunning - every morning, you eat breakfast overlooking beautiful nature. I would recommend staying here to everyone!
