HÔTEL DO CARACOL ^{* * * *}

Staff are great here of a high calibre: the mainstay of the hospitality industry. Paolo was called in by the front desk for an internet issue- great problem solving attempt was impressive. Breakfast was a great variety. One of the staff brought me a " Portuguese" coffee when the coffee machine was temperamental. I thought the hotel was on the edge of town would be difficult even tho I had a car. No parking in town, steep hills and busy. The hotel suggested the bus. It was AMAZING. 30 cents from a stop a few steps away. Regular buses. On Google maps just press public transport, not driving or walking, and the bus schedule pops up. I took the buses regularly. Staff are great here, helpful and informative. Have an indoor pool too

Excelente experiência. Alguns quartos necessitam de manutenção em alguns pontos, mas são muito confortáveis. Ótima localização à beira-mar.

SUNDAY BUFFET LUNCH AT HOTEL CARACOL
The restaurant at Hotel Caracol is located on the first floor of the hotel, right off of the lobby. It offers a pleasant upscale setting with some ocean view tables offering a gorgeous view of Monte Brasil for lovely dining, be it lunch or dinner. On Sundays they offer a buffet which we my husband and I…and friends), as locals, visit quite often each month.
The variety of the buffet is quite nice, I am a big fan of the starters such as soups, large shrimp; cheeses and other typical Portuguese finger food, the salads and dessert options.
The hot plates are a bit hit or miss on some Sundays where the meat options have been a bit overcooked and the fish could be better but the veggie side dishes are always good. With the immense choices they offer I have never left hungry, unsatisfied or disappointed.
The staff is always pleasant, polite and professional with an extra special FIVE STARS for their Maître D Sebastien Sulas who, with his great disposition, good humor and upscale professionalism, brings life to the whole dining room, always watchful and attentive to all the customer’s needs even on extremely busy Sundays.
Buffet lunch is €25 pp with water, juice, wine and coffee included. It is well worth it’s price for the food, atmosphere and service.
