Great place to stay for a short term! People are so helpful, breakfast was great, amazing pool and ocean view from the room!

Situado em frente ao Mar, num local calmo e muito bonito. Contudo as instalações a necessitar de um refresh e um look mais moderno. Staff muito simpático. Muito Obrigado ! ????

Definitiv keine 4 Sterne.
Lage ist recht gut um die Insel zu erkunden.
Personal ebenfalls sehr freundlich.
Allerdings sind die Zimmer schon sehr altbacken und runtergerockt.
Das Bad könnte mal eine gründliche Reinigung mit Entkalker vertragen.
Leider fühlen sich hier auch Silberfische zu Hause.
Balkon nicht sehr einladend (seitlicher Meerblick)
Frühstück war bis jetzt das schlechteste was ich in einem Hotel erlebt habe.
Auswahl extrem dürftig.
(Kaffee war aber top)

Povoação, Hotel do Mar
We visited this town in São Miguel Island many times. We always stay at Hotel do Mar.
The location of the hotel is perfect. The hotel is not a 5 star , yet we feel very good in this hotel. We always have a room facing the Ocean . The staff is very friendly and the hotel is very clean is very pleasant.
Povoaçao is a very picturesque municipality . The vegetation is lush and very green and there are always many flowers according to the season. You have , azaleas, camelias, hydrangeas, and many others. They border the fields and roads and make the trip a wonderful experience.

The second day, we came from a walk very tired and looking forward to a cup of tea on the balcony of the suite we booked (we paid extra for the upgrade and stayed for six nights) but we realized that they didn’t provide new tea bags in the room so we went to reception to ask for tea bags. To our shock, we were told that the tea bags are ‘a gift’ from the hotel only on the 1st day of the stay…? We stayed at hotels all around the world and never heard such a ridiculous excuse to cut the costs…. We went to the supermarket to buy teabags….Great service, especially when you pay extra and book a suite which would probably stay empty if we hadn’t…
