七个朝圣的大殿之一，保存着基督的十字架碎片。
这座教堂是罗马的七座圣殿之一，里面有基督的十字架碎片，还有君士坦丁的母亲在耶路撒冷的时候带去的其他遗物：庭院的花瓣，受难的云彩，还有圣托马斯的头像这座教堂是罗马最古老的教堂之一（我们可以看到君士坦丁的花岗岩柱子和洗礼堂），但在十二世纪和十八世纪都得到了很好的维护。

Beautiful fresco on the abside and of course the cross
It is nicely located in a large and sunny square close to san giovanni. It contains the relics of the cross that were given away (in minuscule parts) by the pope to the visiting king or emperors. However i really appreciated the colourful xvi century fresco of the abside attributed to pinturicchio at a certain point
