Okay hostel. No thrills. The staff was friendly. Stayed in an 8 person dorm for €25 a night. I feel strongly that this is overpriced for what you get. That is why it gets four stars.

The dorm was facing the street that was very loud on a Saturday night. The dorm got hot at night and only one small fan for the entire room. The second floor men bathroom smelled bad and the urinal overflowed when I tried flushing it. Think it got fixed but must happen often and be the cause of the smell. The first floor bathroom was nice, clean since I guess it is used less. The kitchen was poorly shocked with good cooking pots and pans.

I personally do not recommend staying here unless it's your last option.

We immediately felt at ease at the hostel, thanks to the warm welcome of Christina. Shared kitchen and bathroom were nice and well equipped. Great central location in Funchal!

Das Check-In nach 18 Uhr lief super unkompliziert, ich habe per E-Mail den Türcode bekommen und der Schlüssel zum Zimmer war an einem leicht zu findenden Ort hinterlegt.
Die Hochbetten im 8-Bett Zimmer quietschen sehr stark, bei jeder kleinen Bewegung, das war sehr störend. Außerdem gab es auch bis spät in den Abend eine große Geräuschkulisse, weil sich unmittelbar vor dem Hostel einige Restaurants befinden.
Am ersten Tag wurden mir (sehr wahrscheinlich) vom Reinigungspersonal 20€ aus der geschlossenen Tasche geklaut, die während der 3 Minuten die ich auf dem Klo war auf dem Bett lag. Ich habe mich an die Rezeption gewandt, da wurde mir gesagt dass ich „selber Schuld“ sei, wenn ich meine Sachen in einem Mehrbettzimmer offen liegen lasse - auf den Einwand, dass zu dem Zeitpunkt keiner der anderen Gäste da waren, wurde nicht eingegangen.

Situé dans la plus belle rue de la vieille ville, cette hôtel-auberge de jeunesse est plein de charme, propre, bien équipé. Les chambres doubles sont suffisamment spacieuses. Attention toutefois aux bruits de la rue ( restaus, musique...) très tardifs le vendredi et le samedi : si vous souhaitez dormir, demander une chambre qui ne ne donne pas sur la rue.

Très bel hôtel dans une magnifique maison ancienne. Très bien situé au coeur de la vieille ville. Nous avons réservé une chambre double spacieuse pour un prix très attractif. La literie est confortable. Nous avons été très bien accueilli par Cristina qui est très sympathique. Bref, un très bon choix pour découvrir Funchal. Attention à prévoir les boules quies car le quartier est bruyant et la maison étant ancienne, les parquets craquent.

Great experience, checked in without the reception as due instructions were left for me. The alternative is the 20 euros additional charge if you want the check-in to be done in person outside the official hours. Stayed in the room of four with single beds, window opening to the streets which is filled restaurants. There's a 41" TV, two chairs and a high coffee table, a standing fan, extra pillows, and a mirror

Au cœur de la rue Santa Maria, cette auberge de jeunesse vaut le coup de s'y arrêter. Très bon accueil, superbe terrasse pour déjeuner, équipement très correct pour un prix imbattable !
