We’ve stayed here twice now. One in December and once in June. The innkeeper in attentive, kind, and knowledgeable about the building and it’s history. There is free wine and cheese in the evening and deer often frequent the garden area. There is even a fridge with complementary cokes, water, and yogurt. And the home made breakfast is AMAZING! It’s perfect for a quiet, relaxing couples vacation. We’ve been twice and will most certainly come back!

We really enjoyed staying at the Old Monterey Inn! This was our first time visiting the area and Wendy was extremely accommodating and helpful. We had breakfast in the common room one day and in our sweet the next day, both incredible and delicious experiences. I would highly recommend staying here!

I just came back from the dreamiest weekend at Old Monterey Inn!

Wendy (the GM) made us feel extremely welcomed from the moment we stepped onto the property. She was so kind, printed out an array of recommended restaurants and places to visit in Big Sur, and politely checked in throughout the weekend to make sure everything was going great.

Our suite was so cozy and exceptionally clean, the morning breakfasts were homemade and truly delicious, on-site parking was easy, and the daily happy hours were so perfectly curated.

I’d recommend this bed & breakfast to anyone.

All of the positive reviews speak to the ambience and charm of the Old Monterey Inn, and I concur. But, the thing that makes it such a pleasant experience is the staff. Everyone was very kind and generous with their time and advice. The grounds are lovely and added to the visit as we enjoyed our morning routine.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Everyone was so nice and accommodating in any and every way. We splurged and stayed in the garden cottage which was beautiful. We enjoyed the beauty of the grounds, even on our rainy weekend. The main house was like walking into a magical time in history, the dining room being our favorite. And the breakfasts, oh my goodness, I wish I could go back every day.
