The Spinnaker is a Sausalito institution, a place to check off a bucket list of dining places...not for the food, per se, but for the perfect setting on the Bay with an unobstructed view toward the San Francisco skyline. Unfortunately, it is also a missed opportunity...an underutilized ambiance that doesn't take advantage of itself as a Mid-Century architectural gem. The interior design lacks character, covering up with questionable drab paint and exotic carpet its potential for having greater sense of place. But the view! That's why a visit is worthwhile. Don't look up or down but out over the water.

To be clear, the food we had was fine for lunch. I cannot speak for their dinner options. The clam chowder was particularly delicious without pastiness found in a lot of other places. The rest of our lunch was good just not memorable. Parking is a little confusing unless you are using the valet.

Food was really good! Great place on the water with sailboats floating by. What a view! The server was great, but should NOT take smoke breaks in the middle of lunch service (really off-putting right before you eat). That said, overall service was great. We had the scallops, burger, and TBLT. All very tasty!

Food was really good and it is the perfect location with a view of San Francisco bay. A little pricy (in my view) but still worth it.

Delicious place to enjoy dinner with a view in Sausalito! We made reservations in advance and enjoyed a drink from the bar while we waited for our table. Oysters and seafood pasta were tasty. Service was great. I'd recommend The Spinnaker while visiting Sausalito.
