this place was tops! best location honestly - the trolley stopped right out the front of the hotel. the hotel is an absolute classic - very original! lovely old building - attentive staff & room cleaned daily. room was older but clean and comfy. the view out of our window into the union square was one I'll never forget! we enjoyed a few beverages at the hotel lobby - great service and it was nice sitting there before heading out for dinner.

I recently decided to travel to California from Florida to experience the wine country and Yosemite national Park. Because I was flying in on a Thursday and out on a Sunday, I was looking for reasonable accommodations. I saw all of the five star reviews online for this property and decided to stay here and I am so glad that I did. You could not have a better location, more premier, service, and a clean room anywhere else for this price. They had hot beverages and cookies 24 hours a day and were phenomenal with their wake up calls and any request for special accommodation. There is a Walgreens and a supermarket next-door not to mention two diners within one block on each side. Additionally, Most of the tours for San Francisco in the surrounding area have a pick up within one block of this hotel. Bravo and a job well done to the team working at the chancellor hotel on Union Square! The cable car is going up and down in front of the hotel was certainly a very nice Bonus upon arrival. There is also a gorgeous park right across the street.

Les puedo compartir que para estar en medio de la ciudad el hotel está increíble, es un edificio antiguo ok, pero es perfecto para quien viene unos días a conocer la ciudad o por trabajo. Al rededor hay de todo, lugares para desayunar, farmacia, chinatown, tiendas … no tiene desayuno incluido pero tienes siempre a tu disposición café, te, y galletas. Si tuviera que volver a San Francisco no buscaría otro lugar.

Un antiguo hotel reciclado, cómodo y mas económico que otros en la misma zona. Durante el día un poco ruidosa la calle y se escucha desde habitaciones, pero ¿quien se queda durante el día en el hotel? Habiendo tanto para conocer. No tiene desayuno incluido pero tienen café, cookies, agua fria y caliente y te de cortesía a toda hora.

Great location, walkable & felt safe. The hotel is clean and comfy with that historic hotel feel. We'll run establishment, all the staff are professional and friendly. Added little extras go along way to make you feel valued. Cookies, hot drink station, popcorn, filtered water and bath salts. I highly recommend staying here.
