Tommy in the bar was absolutely exceptional! He showed genuine interest without being over baring. I could not feel more thankful for his excellent service!
Overall, my experience at this hotel was quite positive. The room was spacious and well-appointed, with a pleasant Christmas atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed the small stereo and toiletries provided. The central location was convenient for exploring Chinatown and Union Square, with many dining and shopping options nearby. However, cleanliness could be improved, as the room was not cleaned after three days. Nevertheless, the facilities were modern, hygiene standards were high, and the staff provided excellent service. Despite the additional parking charge, I would consider staying here again when visiting San Francisco. The only drawback was the slightly outdated windows, which allowed outside noise to be heard.
Five stars for the exceptional service they provide. Though they couldn’t do anything to match our daily rating when we checked in a day earlier, staff in the bar/lounge area and throughout the hotel is trained to provide old world/old fashion, courteous service. Elsa in the bar/lounge area was delightful. The location is a prime location though we didn’t feel safe to stay out after 9:00PM but that’s probably true for everywhere in SF. It’s an old building with old amenities. The elevator does have access code feature that does not work. Anyone can hop on it and have access to the rooms. My family needed a two queen bed room. The bed was shockingly below expectations. Next time I’d choose to stay at Fairmont.
Beautiful Hotel in a Beautiful City!! Outstanding staff make you feel welcomed from the moment you arrive. Clean, spacious King bed room. Great location. What else can I say...It's the Ritz-Carlton!! Will definitely stay here again.
Loved the vallet. Pulled up to the hotel, greeted by men in top hats ????. Check in was a breeze. Big fan of staff at front desk.
We spent our time on club level.
All staff on club level treated myself and my husband like royalty.
Rudy Haryono was very informative, kind, charming and wonderful.
I did not get the name of all the staff on the club level, everyone was fabulous. They went out of their way, above and beyond. The club level food tasty, nice presentation.
An outstanding club level experience.
Housekeeping staff were very thoughtful and attentive.
The room was clean, spacious and eclectic.
Great time was had.
Already made reservations to go back.
My mother and I arrived in San Francisco after a 9 hour day of driving. Immediately upon arrival to the Ritz everything was as smooth as butter, starting with our fantastic Doorman Joel who was so kind to escort us to the front desk. As we approached the front desk we were greeted by two wonderful humans, Jordan and Teresa. Jordan went above and beyond. He upgraded our reservations as our experience with the call center was less than satisfactory and while doing so, he had a lovely suggestion for our trip.
A few moments after we entered our rooms an envelope was slid under our door. The envelope contained a map with details on the perfect beach for us to go to and see the golden gate bridge. From start to finish the staff has been exceptional and I am so incredibly grateful to those who I have named here for making a long day more enjoyable.
I called to book a stay but first I had an inquiry to understand what was the price of the breakfast if I wanted to add it on the premise. The lady on the phone was not only not aware (“you have to call the restaurant, I don’t know”), but she really was not nice and not trying to help. Also, could not tell me the differences between the rooms deluxe or regular I saw online. Not up to the standards of a 5* hotel, really disappointing
I’ve stayed here a few times and each time has been a great experience. Rarely my room was not ready at the requested check in time but they called fairly quickly to get me accommodated. The rooms are very clean and cozy. Service is excellent. Dine-in food was great every time.
Last year we had over 400 hotel stays at Marriott properties. (2023) I personally have stayed at over 20 Ritz-Carlton properties. So, based on my experience I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this hotel. The front desk staff, are not prepared to accommodate or offer solutions. The front desk manager needs to be trained on proper communication with customers. Manager apologized for his remarks. The valet staff, and general manager did not meet our expectation's. We were offered 1000 hotel points valued at $ 100.00 and a cup cake. Insulting. Conclusion the hotel has deteriorated along with the crime of San Fransisco.
A security guard harassing a gentleman on the public sidewalk is not a good look for your business. At 1 point this same security guard assaults this individual. I would not recommend anyone stay there.
The Ritz is amazing the service, the hospitality, the genuine good helpful attitudes of all the staff, you are certainly sad when it’s check out time. From the moment you walk in the front doors you know this is a five star hotel. The bar/restaurant area is nice and window seating with the view is prime. If you have time there is also a private wine tasting room and I highly recommend picking up a bottle of perfume or cologne from the Krigler shop.
