LOVED this little inn tucked away in Nob Hill. Clean large room with comfy bed. Free breakfast in the Salon was just perfect. Free wine and nibbles at 5:00 was even better. The staff was so kind and made everything so easy. 100 year old elevator was charming. Valet parking is a must and worth the money!
4.5 /5. This adorable hotel is as lovely as advertised. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. I stayed here with My wife on our honeymoon. The building is old but the staff made effort to accommodate in every way possible. There are some scuffs on walls and the furniture shows some wear. The sofa in our room wasn't functional as a pull out, granted this made no circumstance to us. No central ac, pipes are sensitive, but staff was responsive and there are fans for warmer days.
Honestly, it was the little things that made this so incredible. A working fireplace in the room as well as tiny kitchenette and second sink. The mod 60s decor. And that wallpaper! An A large comfortable bed, old school elevator, and wine and cheese in the afternoons. 2 blocks from Chinatown. Would absolutely stay here again.
White Swan is an awesome find in a city full of over-priced, outdated hotel rooms and zero service. Service at White Swan is excellent and included valet, help with luggage, storing bags after check-out, and the staff gave me some local restaurant and sight-seeing tips. The room is absolutely charming with a fireplace and thoughtful little details such as extra blankets, luggage rack, iron, fan and a sink with a coffee station. I could not hear my neighbors and didn't experience any unusual volume of noise in hallways. The continental breakfast was beyond expectations - oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, fruit, boiled eggs, toast, croissants and other breads, as well as coffee, tea, juice, water and milk. The breakfast area is 19th century charming with tables and chairs, of course, but also fireplace and several sitting areas with chairs and couches. There is also a patio. I would recommend this hotel for small groups and family gatherings like weddings because there is plenty of cute space for socializing. Walk one block to jump on the famous San Francisco trolley or catch other transportation. There is a market across the street and nice restaurants on the block. I will definitely return to White Swan when I am in San Francisco.
We recently stayed at the White Swan Inn for 6 nights, and had a great vacation. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the breakfast/afternoon happy hour were a pleasant surprise. The only thing that wasn't 5* was the location, and that's only because of the access to public transportation and having to walk the steep hill to get to any major transport lines. Other than that, we felt safe the entire stay and appreciated the secured main entrance. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and can't wait to come back!
We loved staying in this delightfully quirky hotel. Our room was large and comfortable, though it would have been nice to have chairs facing the fireplace with a small table between.
The tiny kitchenette was a pleasant surprise, and it was very convenient to have a second sink in the dressing area.
The dining room (for breakfast & wine/nibbles) was welcoming, and I hope that we return in better weather to enjoy the adjoining outdoor spaces.
The hotel is not handicapped accessible, but Nob Hill is not a handicap-friendly area.
Old hotel with lots of charm and great service. Very good value for its location and amenities. Rooms on the road side get LOTS of traffic and human noise (single pane windows); requesting a room on alternate side of building might help with that.
This was our first trip of the year and the trip that I proposed to my now fiancee. We loved how we were greeted with great hospitality by the Concierge. She was very informative and helpful with providing local options for transportation along with options for entertainment/ restaurants. The little details like the White Swan Inn pillow Chocolates, map of the city, and list of recommended restaurants was very nice. The inn was very cute with a lot of historic decorations and architecture. Very central location with a variety of affordable transportation options. We had a comfortable stay and highly recommend!
Atienden de maravilla del primero al último empleado.todo funciona a la perfección y a diferencia de alguien que criticó que no ponen voluntad para entender, son los más amables y bien predispuestos a toda colaboración.
The room was surprisingly large and quite comfortable, and the additional sinks outside the washroom are a nice touch.
Wine and cheese included every evening was a treat!
Every member of staff was very friendly and helpful.
We'll be back!

Enjoy a glass of wine in the afternoon with cheese.
