The fire in the room during turn down service and early morning coffee / breakfast call is wonderful. We never had a need during our stay that wasn't met.
Some of the challenges of the lodge include the incredibly bad roads going to the lodge (not the lodge's fault!). But if you have trouble with bumpy and rough roads, going up north might be a better bet. But we really enjoyed our stay as it felt a bit more authentic and slightly more off the beaten path.
The food was more homestyle cooked rather than fine dining, but flavors were solid and we never waited long for anything.
