HOTEL YIT CASA GRANDE ^{* * * *}

Nos ha gustado mucho. Es un hotel tranquilo en el centro de Jerez. Paseando tienes todo cerca, tiendas, restaurantes, bodegas,... El personal es amable y el el espacio es precioso. Un acierto.

El hotel precioso, muy limpio y el personal muy amable. La habitación de pena. Estupendamente decorada pero incómoda a más no poder. Muy pequeña, no teníamos ni dónde dejar la maleta, tampoco había un sillón en dónde poder sentarte un rato a descansar (solo un sillón de madera antiguo y una silla de comedor). El aire acondicionado cae encima de la cama de forma intermitente (pasas del frio al calor, continuamente) al tener los techos muy altos no se puede cambiar la posición de las lamas. El colchón y el somier: regulares. El armario, incomodísimo, es un armario antiguo restaurado. La habitación da al patio interior, allí hay una ventana, que no puedes abrir, enfrente hay otra, que tampoco puedes abrir porque está muy alta, así que todo el rato la luz encendida y la única ventilación exterior una pequeña ventana del cuarto de baño. Hablo de la habitación 8.
Han primado la estética sobre la funcionalidad. Puede que hayamos tenido muy mala suerte y nos haya tocado la peor habitación, pero hice la reserva en abril y tampoco parecía que el hotel estuviese lleno. No recomendaré este hotel.

The location was great. Five minute easy walk to Plaza Arenal. Located on a plaza with cafes that served cheap breakfasts. Pedestrianised area so no road noise.

The staff were friendly and the welcome drink was a nice touch.

Beautiful building. Common areas were tastefully decorated. The internal patio was lovely and there is a roof terrace, although it could have done with a little TLC, eg comfortable chairs, more shade.

The room was pleasant. High ceilings, 2 Juliet balconies overlooking the square, comfortable beds. Bathroom was clean with a good shower with choice of overhead or not. Lots of room around sink for toiletries.

However........

The air conditioning was not fit for purpose. We had it turned to the lowest setting and the highest fan but it still had little impact. This affected the quality of our sleep. On getting up on the last morning, the temperature of our room was significantly higher than it was outside. This needs to be sorted out. The outside temperature when we stayed was in the low 30s but it can get so much higher......

We were travelling with a significant amount of cash which we wanted to put in the safety deposit box in our room. However, it had come away from the wall and could therefore be picked up, so not 'safe' at all. We asked at reception if we could leave it in their safe, but were told they didn't have one. We therefore had to carry the money around with us, which was far from ideal.
