We stayed 1st - 4th Feb 2024. While the public areas of the hotel are beautiful I have to say we were really disappoined with our room. I think it was room 6. It was on the ground floor in the 'old' building. I had chosen a superior standard room when booking and had high hopes, so when we arrived late in the evening were really disappointed that it didn't look like the room we expected. It was a strange layout with the bathroom in the middle. It was really dark, with little natural light. There was an ant problem in the bathroom and generally it felt really shabby and in need of upgrade with scuff marks on the walls, limescale in the bathroom, etc. We were celebrating our anniversary and were just so disapppointed. If we hadn't arrived so late I think we woul dhave asked to change rooms.
We did however enjoy the breakfast and the staff were very nice.

Terrible phone manners. The person that picked up my call wasn’t listening to what I said, gave short and unhelpful answers in a condescending manner and hung up when I wasn’t done. Need to re-train their staff.
