La Banda is a great hostel near a lot of cafes and restaurants in Madrid.
If you ever get the chance, definitely go here for New Years, which is a really fun experience.
The staff is really friendly and really knowledgable about events going on in the city.

no table/any platforms in the room was a major bummer had no place to even put a mug - bedding, especially the pillow is the worst, like worse than Ikea’s cheapest line kind of worst and the polyester duvet was also hard to bear - i put a lot ot weight on bedding quality so - hygiene and renovation wise it is a 2 or 2.5 star at the most
i mean if you are super extraverted and just like to mingle in a hostel go for it but this is not for introverts prefer quietude and clean + cozy beds - also the cost is too high for what you get; the worst hostel I had so far throughout my 1.5 months in Europe- this was the only one I woke up in the middle of the night freezing and had to take a COLD shower in the morning in January because THERE IS NO HOT WATER. miserable

Had a great time here, kind people, calm atmosphere. You can get a good night of sleep here and still socialize. Met some great people here on my first solo trip.
