Schaut euch einfach mal die "Mall" an und überlegt, welche Mieten hier im Vergleich sicherlich zu bezahlen sind.
Insbesondere der Gewürz-Laden in der 1. Etage ist reine Abzocke.
Falls euer Guide unbedingt darauf besteht, dass man mit dem Einkauf warten soll bis man im Gewürz-Geschäft ist, nichts kaufen. Gibt es die Hälfte billiger an einer anderen Ecke in Port Louis.
Vermutung ist, dass manche Guides kleine Deals haben und Provision kassieren.
Falls das Wort hier nicht reicht: schaut euch einfach den Preisunterschied der Vanille zwischen dem Laden im EG und dem im 1. Stock an. Andere Gewürze das selbe Spiel.
Vanille oben nicht trocken (verschimmelt schnell) und wiegt natürlich mehr, doppelt so teuer wie unten.
Am Rande sei erwähnt, dass Guides, die darauf bestehen unbedingt noch mit euch ein Geschäft (meist Duty-Free) abseits der gebuchten Route zu besuchen "Kauf den Rum nicht hier in Camarel, ich kenne da einen besseren Laden"), nicht vertrauenswürdig sind.
Auch hier wird kräftig Provision kassiert.
Erwähnt sei in diesem Beispiel der deutsch sprechende Guide Rudy, der das Spiel anscheinend gut beherrscht.
Sagt erstmal nichts und wartet ab, ob sich bei euch das Spiel auch bestätigt.
Und kauft den Rum am Besten direkt in der Rhumerie de Chamarel, auch wenn der Guide dort eher durch hetzt, da ihr ja noch wo anders hin müsst um den "guten" Rum zu kaufen :)

Blossom’s by Dil (1st floor) - very nice & unique handcrafted things, and really locally produced by the friendly artist, really recommended!
Lindsay Sal Silk Paintings (1st floor) - also handcrafted locally, friendly artist with great paintings, even small painted bookmarks or magnets.
The rest of the market is fine as well, but lots of souvenir shops with usual tourist stuff, but really recommend the few local shops!
There’s a number of boutiques spread across the ground and first floor for customers to visit with a fair few options to look at. This includes arts, crafts, souvenirs, hand produced items and more.
The area has undergone a recent renovation and is looking fresh, modern and still has a relevant theme to its craft market name.
