RESTAURANT DU GRAND BEC

To our disappointment, the indoor pool/sauna/jacuzzi is said to be only opened in winter/rainy days in summer. The website advertises with these facilities being available - so be warned!

The service was unfriendly and the rooms were outdated. Paint is coming off the walls and no power plugs were available to charge devices. The Wifi is slow and often did not work at all. Would not recommend.

Good:
- One of the most affordable options in Pralognan that gets you a room with double bed and balcony, and private bathroom. Breakfast was also cheap to add but I didn't have it so can't comment.
- Perfect location to explore everything around Pralognan, close to shops, town centre, hiking trails etc.
- Free parking (there are also 2 spots to charge an electric vehicle)
- Generally good standard of cleaning every day

Bad:
- Bizarre situation where the lady in reception refused to give me an extra towel, as mine hadn't been replaced for 3 days (one of the days the cleaners forgot to replace them, the next day I left my room at 10am and had the do not disturb sign up before that - I guess you can't have your room cleaned/towels replaced after 10am?). I was told to wait until the next morning when the room was cleaned? I found this very strange in a 3 star hotel as this is one of the most basic provisions of hospitality that a guest could expect. If a guest asks for a towel surely you just give them one/tell them where they can find one?

- Really poor, slow and weak wifi by today's standards.

- The decor and general look of the room did have a rustic, more traditional feel, but there were also random cracks and damage in the walls/furnishings, paint peeling off walls, just a generally tired and unkempt look.

- Poor water pressure in the shower/the water in the sink took a long time to go down

Overall it was OK for a week. The accommodation in the area is quite expensive but this as one of the cheaper options was still around 550 euro - if it was less I would probably be more understanding towards the negatives during my stay.

Hôtel très bien placé proche du centre de la station. Le service est correct, sans plus comme les chambres. Petit déjeuner très moyen.

Accueil chaleureux, le cadre est soigné, décoration authentique, très bien tenu et très propre.|Le chef cuisinier nous avait préparé une sublime ratatouille avec des frites allumettes ainsi qu’une tranche de bœuf.|Le tout préparé avec soin et fait maison.||Je vous le recommande.
