Sure, the train turntable thing is still functional, which sounds promising, right? ???? Nope. It’s not going to be operated during your visit. We were told the only way to maybe see it in action is to roll the dice again on another tour—same price, same boring speech, and no guarantees. ????????
We went around 3pm, so naturally, the SNCF workers were just slowly moseying around doing basically nothing, stuck between lunch break and clocking out for the day. ???????? No old trains to hop on or explore either — you only get to look at them from the outside, which is kinda lame. ????????
And the guide? Oh man. Imagine a walking, talking vintage recording playing a monotone drone about stuff that’s mostly unrelated to the place. ????️???? Instead, it’s all Parisian politics and European conflicts from when the building was constructed. Yeah, thanks, but no thanks. ????
Long story short: not worth the money, but hey, this is the only way to get inside. So if you’re super curious or a huge train nerd, maybe give it a shot—but don’t expect anything exciting. ????
