Expérience hors de l’ordinaire! Service à la clientèle impeccable, une foule de petites attentions personnalisées qui te font sentir important et apprécié, vraiment extra!!! La suite lumière est SU-BLI-ME. Famille de 4 avec 2 jeunes adultes, c’était parfait. Difficile de trouver des chambres en France qui offrent 4 bons lits dans la même chambre. Les banquettes qui sont à la fois des lits simples étaient parfaites! Très grande pièce avec un mur complet de fenêtres, cachet très soigné, superbe décor thématique, propreté sans faille, beaucoup de rangement, deux toilettes séparées. Emplacement géographique parfait, aucun bruit la nuit.
Vraiment sous le charme de cet endroit du 16e siècle qui est rénové au goût du jour avec des employés hors pair!!!

They left my door unlocked after cleaning it. My room was on the first floor so it was accessible to everyone all day.

Si vous m’aviez servi un verre d’eau sous 40 degrés il y’a maintenant 15 ans, j’aurais pris une chambre dans votre hotel pour mon séjour à lyon le mois prochain, vous en payez les frais aujourd’hui, 1 étoile

L'accueil est chaleureux et professionnel enfin tout dépend de sur qui vous tombez.
Bémol, entre mon coup de téléphone et le check out le prix à augmenté de 30 francs sans raison je me demande encore pourquoi.
La porte de la chambre 001 ne peut être verrouillé, après intervention rien ni fait j'ai donc du dormir la porte déverrouillée car on me proposait de m'enfermer de l'extérieur...
Lorsque j'ai signaler le problème le lendemain matin à la jeune femme blonde qui s'occupait du petit déjeuner elle m'a bien fait comprendre ça lui en toucher une sans faire bouger l'autre.
Bref si vous avez l'occasion d'y aller, essayez d'éviter la chambre 001 car c'est un problème qui existe depuis un certain temps et rien ne semble être fait, et pensez à bien bloquer le prix car il peut très vite monter sans raison.
Sur Lyon la nuit d'hôtel est cher mais pour 150€ je vous recommande de choisir d'autre adresses bien plus honnête et pro que celle-ci, avec des portes qui ferment...

My daughters and I stayed here. We booked a family suite which was 2 bathrooms, a room with a king bed and a second room with 2 twin beds and a small table and chairs. The rooms had a pocket door between them and each room had access to a bathroom. It was a great option for us to feel like we had a little more space. The rooms were clean and had lots of windows, beds were very comfortable. We liked the option for breakfast. They offer a petite (croissant or baguette, coffee and fresh juice) or a full (same as above plus eggs and meat). We did that a couple of days and it was delicious. Great location in old Lyon near the funicular and subway/bus stops. Also surrounded by a lot of food options and walkable to a lot of museums, shops and historic sites. Would definitely book again.

One of my favorite hotel rooms. There are four similar rooms on the front of this hotel, one on each floor. They are wider than they are deep and there are large windows all across the wide front. It appears they can be opened but the weather was cold when we were here so didn’t try. Tremendous natural light from these windows and because of the wide expanse of glass you still feel like you’re in old Lyon even when you’re in your room. . These rooms are large and feature a 13 foot ceiling with huge exposed beams. Bed is great and big towels with a WC separate from sink/shower area. Book one if you can!

This hotel is located perfectly for exploring the old city of Lyon. Only A short distance from new city and shops and metro station is just A 5min walk. Funiculare/string is located at metro station. Rooms are excellent and breakfast is available is the hotel.

We visited Lyon just before Christmas in 2024 and loved staying in the Old Town. We chose L’Académie Hôtel because of its wonderful reviews, location and also because the hotel had an old-world charm. The staff was young but very helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel room had wood beamed ceiling and felt historic. However, we were given the smallest room! The property is multi-storied and the floor plan showed two larger rooms with an extremely small room in between. Our room had no closet, and a toilet room where your knees hit the opposite wall. There was just enough room to walk around the bed, but we had to navigate over luggage because there was no storage area. Overall, the hotel was really great, but I probably would have selected a bigger room (apparently ours was only 129 s.f.), or paid more attention to the size of the room.

Super hôtel très bien situé. La chambre était bien,la literie confortable et la salle de bain au top. Le personnel est très serviable.

On y retourne avec plaisir. L’hôtel est très bien situé au cœur du Vieux Lyon. Le cadre est superbe atypique dans cette bâtisse renaissance. L’hôtel est calme, bien isolé. L’accueil est chaleureux et professionnel. La literie, excellente. Une belle expérience à recommander.

We stayed in one of the Lumière suites. It was a lovely as pictured on the website. We especially enjoyed the wall of windows. We were pleasantly surprised that there were two bathrooms, but disappointed that there was no mini fridge. The lift was right next to the room. The hotel is in the old part of Lyon, which is a wonderful neighborhood to wander. We wished we could have stayed longer. Don’t hesitate to book a suite!

L’hôtel dispose d’un emplacement idéal, en plein cœur du vieux Lyon avec possibilité de tout faire à pieds ! L’accueil et le service sont impeccable, le personnel est très gentil, disponible et toujours prêt à vous arranger ! Petit déjeuner simple mais très bon ! Les chambres de deux sont très propres mais un peu petites tout de même. La literie est très confortable. La chambre pour trois est idéale car le deuxième lit se trouve dans une chambre séparée avec salle de bain et toilettes associées !

Très propre, tout neuf, grand confort et un calme absolu pour dormir . C’était parfait.

Never 4 stars! We received one room ground floor without window,no wifi signal,broken sink,no hot water..careless receptionist..very disopointed experience ! The positions is good but unfortunatelly the experience was very frustrant !

Beautiful new hotel in a very old building. Restaurants nearby are excellent, some of the best food I've ever had. Easy to get to the metro across the bridge to the airport or train station. Easy to get to the top of the hill for a lovely view of Lyon. Very walkable and vibrant neighborhood with university students. Recommend all the bars and restaurants nearby.

One of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at. Room was massive with a side living room and ceiling window. Beautiful old building. Delicious breakfast with friendly staff. Perfect location for visiting lovely Lyon. Would come back again!

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. They gave us a very roomy upgrade to a nice suite that had 2 bedrooms. This worked great for our family. It also had 2 bathrooms. It is nicely located in the old Lyon. This hotel has the historical details representative of Old Lyon, but with the rooms being modern. Our room had an espresso machine with coffee pockets and tea maker. Also a safe. But no refrigerator. But they did have purified water with water carafes in the lobby. This was very convenient. You could also fill your water bottle. Easy walking to many restaurants, cafes, and shops. The bathroom is modern with plenty of towels and a very, very nice shower. Their sister hotel, the College Inn is directly across the street which has a very spacious dining area for breakfast and leather couches for lounging and reading. Lucy at the hotel desk was super helpful and really enthusiastic. She helped us with some navigation tips and site seeing. We really appreciated her help on our navigation challenges and site seeing ideas. I only had a few frustrations. The lobby for coffee and breakfast is very small and uninviting. Upfront email correspondence was not very good. I finally had to call to make the reservation. My questions regarding the College Inn were never answered. ( i finally gave up) The person working the phone on the 2 days I called did not speak English very well which doesn't bother me but first said he couldn't take my credit card because the management would do that. Only for him to call me back 5 minutes later wanting my credit card. When I was in Lyon I walked over to the College Inn. Online reviews claimed Academie was in the heart of old Lyon (more upscale) and the College inn on the outskirts (more downscale). This isn't true. Honestly, their Lobby is 4 times the size of the Academie Hotel. A very spacious lounge area and dining area. The Academie had a very small; very small - tiny dining/lobby. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel and preferred to walk to a patisserie that had coffee so we could enjoy the local patisseries. But the College Inn has a big buffet. If you prefer a full breakfast and are staying at the Academie, you can arrange that. I'd go to the College Inn for a full breakfast. the other thing that bugged me was if I went down to the lobby just to get a cup of coffee they charge you for that. I think coffee should be free in lieu of what i'm spending. ( I will note here that I like a cup of coffee with breakfast and not an espresso. ) Lastly, the hotel sent us a form to speed up our check-in. It had a great questionnaire about what we needed at check-in. I was very impressed with this. But there is 1 problem. They didn't follow up on any of the items on the checklist except our pickup at the train station. They sent a very good driver and I was appreciative of that. But they didn't bother to follow up with the questions like: what do you want in your room in regards to toiletries. What help do you want site seeing. None of the questionnaire I filled out online prior to our stay that they sent was followed up on. When I asked the hotel desk clerks they had no idea what I was talking about. All in all I'm giving this hotel 4 stars for the room and the excellent onsite hotel staff. We took the speed train from Paris which was excellent. Only 2 hours to Lyon. You have an amazing selection of restaurants, its quieter then Paris in a good way. And it has the perfect combination of colorful buildings, the architecture. I highly recommend a visit to Lyon. And I'm glad we stayed at the Academie Hotel. See my reviews for restaurants. Have a good trip!

Pésima atención, primero dijeron que no estaba pagada la habitación lo cual era incorrecto y hasta que les enseñamos el cargo en la tarjeta ya buscaron en su base de datos, fuimos en diciembre y no tenían cobertores extra, con la excusa de que se les acabaron, no pusieron shampoo en la regadera, nos hicieron una reservación para tomar el taxi de regreso y el taxi nunca llegó. |No volveremos

This does not measure up to a 4 * hotel. No personal amenities in the room.—you must go downstairs to get them. No closet in room. No refrigerator in the room. Shower room had musty smell. The over head shower had very low pressure and flow. The bed had one comforter—no top sheet—thus you either sweat under the cover or it is too cold to sleep without a heavy comforter. No offer to help with luggage. Overall worse than a 3* in Paris.

The room and the service were awesome and the people were so kind and nice also location was the best

Dès notre arrivée, l’accueil a été glacial : à peine un mot, aucune explication claire, et encore moins un soupçon d’empathie. La chambre, quant à elle, était loin d’être à la hauteur : exiguë, dépourvue d’insonorisation, elle donnait sur la cour de l’hôtel où chaque passage de client résonnait comme un tumulte. Sous le lit, une épaisse couche de poussière trahissait un entretien bâclé. Aucun minibar pour un minimum de confort.

Le pire, c’était la porte de la chambre : mal fixée, elle laissait entrer un courant d’air glacial qui rendait les nuits d’hiver franchement désagréables. Ce n’était pas tout. Le séjour a atteint son paroxysme de désagrément lorsqu’en quittant le parking, la porte de celui-ci s’est brutalement refermée sur l’aile gauche de notre véhicule, causant des dégâts significatifs.

Et le service ? Tout simplement inexistant. Face à l’incident, la seule réponse reçue fut une consigne sèche : “Contactez l’hôtel pour l’assurance.”

Hôtel superbement rénové situé en plein quartier historique dans une rue cependant, très calme la nuit. Un escalier et une cour magnifiques. Les chambres sont superbes et la literie excellente. Petit déjeuner copieux et un personnel très agréable. Ce hôtel à caractère intime est une belle expérience à recommander.

Hôtel de charme dans une maison traditionnelle lyonnaise. Par contre, certaines chambres ont les toilettes sur palier et les prix sont très chers au moment de la fête des lumières. Bon petit déjeuner.

Hôtel correct situé au cœur de la vieille ville de Lyon. La chambre est très simple et un peu sombre. Un plus pour la gentillesse du personnel, quant au petit déjeuner, il est assez bon.

Je recommande vivement cet hotel pour un week end à Lyon. Il est très bien situé dans le vieux lyon. L'accueil est exemplaire ! A l'accueil on vous donne des conseils, vous suggere des lieux à visiter, de bons restos...Les chambres sont toutes différentes et ont beaucoup de cachets! Autre avantage le petit déjeuner (copieux et très bon) est servi jusqu'à 11H30! j'y ai passé deux nuits et je ne regrette pas d'avoir choisi cet hotel !
