Right off the bat, the staff gave me a key and assigned me to an occupied room, with another guest’s property laid out across the room. Fortunately, they were not in the room at the time and fortunately for them, I’m not a thief. I had to get assigned a different room, without an even apology for the inconvenience.
A man on night time staff was incredibly dismissive or lazy, not sure. I wanted to extend my stay and first thing he says is “we are booked”, which doesn’t follow logically because check-out is 12pm and check-in is also 12pm, suggesting rooms have a delay before being assigned. I pushed a bit and the person told me to “come back at 7am” instead. I come back later and oh look at that the hotel wasn’t even close to being “booked” per the worker who helped me extend. I wonder if Ibis cares that their lazy night time staff could have cost them a room extension?
Barebones minimum, the room was sufficiently spacious I suppose for my brief stay but I’d rather just sleep in the train station next time.
