I had to change my hotel because the first place I booked was really bad. I was so lucky to find this very cute place. The room was very cute and calm. It had an elevator and an ac. The staff working there was very nice and forthcoming. I could even check-in a earlier, after making an inquiry because I hadn't slept that much and had a match in the afternoon.
The breakfast was really good as well. I had all I need to have a good start into the day. It is also great to see that they really support the local community and are ecologically sound.

We really liked this hotel. Central and quiet location, spacious room with large bed, clean with good shower room. The breakfast was the best during our travels in France and we had previously stayed in some 3* hotels. The staff were very helpful with some questions and issues we had and always really friendly. Highly recommended. Also they are part of the petite cantine initiative to support isolated people which we very much respected.

Tolles kleineres Stadthotel im Zentrum von Lyon. Charmant eingerichtet, freundliches Personal. Alles sehr sauber, alles sehr unkompliziert. Velos können sicher im Innenhof abgestellt werden. Absolut zu empfehlen.

Conveniently located between 2 subway stops. Rooms quiet, clean. Staff friendly. Liked the fact that the weekday breakfast starts at 6am as I'm an early riser, but on both days the server didn't have it set up on time with the 2nd day being a half hour late.

Merci pour votre accueil souriant et votre professionnalisme dans cet hôtel de cachet . Les chambres sont confortables et spacieuses , le quartier est dynamique mais pas trop bruyant avec beaucoup de restaurants dont de très bons et boutiques , librairies, salons de massage thaï..

4 Tripadvisor points in the Affordable-hotels-series. Simplon is not your Carltonsavoyritz and from outside looks dated. Inside is cozy, tidy and with friendly receptionists. Rooms obviously come in different sizes, mine was spacious, and very nice. Bathroom a tad dated, but everything works and is clean. And I came to see Lyon, not the age of bathroom tiles. Breakfast was as well pretty good with all the things I appreciate, especially 3 different juices. Now the location; Perrache station with many different connection points to metro, bus, tram…very near, only few minutes to walk. If you consider the proximity of Viex Ville very important, that’s a pretty long way from here by foot, but doable, 20ish minutes, public trans again avalaible (nuy the 24h, 48h card from metrostation, works in metro, bus, tram. Use google for routes and timetbles, buses come when they happen to come).|Traditional keys, leave at the 24h reception when going out. Lobby tiny, but nice deco with old velo-photos.|Nice walkin street very near too, starts from the park. Restaurants here too, but density increases moving upwards on the map.|All in all, considering the price for 2 nights, Simplon deserves 4 in the 3 star hotel series. I liked it.

Comfortable and Friendly Stay in a Quiet, Well-Located Hotel

I stayed here for four nights while attending an event in Lyon and had a comfortable, stress-free experience. When booking a hotel in a new city, I’m always a bit anxious about finding somewhere quiet, clean, and welcoming but this place ticked all the boxes it was located close to where others friends were staying which is why i picked the district

The staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating from the moment I arrived. The hotel is easy to reach from Gare de Lyon-Perrache, and once you’re there, you can walk to most parts of the city. Lyon is compact and easy to explore on foot.

Initially, the room felt a little small, so I asked to view a few others, but they turned out to be even smaller (some have tiny bathrooms). I decided to stick with my original room, which ended up being a perfectly fine choice for a solo stay. It had everything I needed for a few nights: a comfortable bed, a good shower with consistent hot water, and fresh towels available daily.

The hotel is located on a reasonably quiet street, with supermarkets and cafés just a few minutes’ walk away — very convenient. While I didn’t try the breakfast, the reception area looked modern and welcoming. Some parts of the hotel did look slightly tired, but it didn’t impact the quality of my stay.

I didn't use the services, but I've given it. As the staff always happy to accommodate.

Overall, I felt at ease here. It’s a good option if you’re looking for a quiet, no-fuss base in Lyon with friendly service and a great location for a solo stay.

Très bien placé, près de la gare Perrache, à 20 min du vieux Lyon à pieds
Chambre très propre, super literie et bon accueil
Possibilité en surcoût de bénéficier d'une place de parking couverte et sécurisée

Overall the hotel is nice. My room was very small but comfortable and the place is charming. The location is also quite good. My one big complaint was that there are apartments not affiliated with the hotel on the top floor of the building and the people in the apartment immediately above my room have a dog that barked for hours into the night, making a huge racket until well after midnight.

Location is very good. The staff are friendly, check in was smooth. The room was spacious enough. It is easily accessible by public transport from Lyon Part Dieu. I would recommend them.

Très bon accueil, l’hôtel permet de garer des vélos dans la cours intérieure, la deco est très sympa. Les chambres sont confortables (lit King size). Le petit déjeuner est un buffet. Proximité directe de la gare Lyon perache. Un peu bruyant la nuit.

Location is excellent but the rooms are really really tiny. For 2 persons we got bed for one, bedside table only on one side, no place to put two larger bags. Bathtub is very narrow and you can easily slip. Even for our short stay it was really uncomfortable.

Ich war mehrere Jahre hier zu Gast, anfangs begeistert, zunehmend nahm die Qualität in Form von Freundlichkeit und Gastgebertum ab, man wurde mitunter schnippisch und frech behandelt. Als dann vor ein paar Jahren die Klimaanlage nicht funktionierte, bekam man einen Ventilator und nach neuerliche Beschwerde ein Zimmer in einem Nachbarhotel in der Stadtmitte, welches insbesondere durch sehr laute Zimmer "überzeugte". Nach ca 5 Jahren habe ich mich nun umorientiert.

Hôtel sympathique avec une ambiance passée, par contre nous avons eu une chambre toute petite , pour 240€ le jour de la Saint Valentin ! c’est le tarif d’un 4 /5 etoiles!!!! Ils profitent des fetes pour augmenter leur prix :INADMISSIBLE !!!!

A lovely hotel in the heart of Lyon near plenty of places to eat. Staff friendly, nicely decorated and had a cosy feel to it.||Room was good, decent bed and powerful shower. Room was a little basic without for example any facility to make a hot drink....not even a bottle of water!||Good for 1 night for sure.

Great boutique hotel, conveniently located close to old Lyon, shopping and restaurants, family friendly and offers tasty breakfast!

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful with finding places to eat and taxi reservations. Hotel staff spoke fluent English so we did not have any problems communicating.

Attention ils essayent de prendre le paiement avant votre arrivée, même si votre réservation affirme que vous ne payerez qu’à l’arrivée. Soit disant une empreinte et ils vous menacent d’annuler ensuite. Je ne trouve pas ça correct et c’est très mensonger
