Charmant petit hôtel situé en plein cœur de Lyon, à deux pas des Célestins et de la place Bellecour. Jolie chambre, jolie vue, au calme, petit déjeuner copieux, staff irréprochable, le tout pour un prix plus que raisonnable.

Un hôtel qui met à disposition dans les chambres du thé et non point de café en argumentant que le café est proposé payant en salle, est certainement au fond du trou économique. Ce n'est qu'un point de détail mais c'est sur des détails que je choisis un hôtel.

Super hôtel en plein centre du vieux Lyon.
Accueil remarquable de l’ensemble du personnel que ce soit l’accueil, le petit déjeuner (produits locaux) ou le Check out.
Le parking Célestins est situé à quelques pas et vous rejoignez rapidement l’autoroute A7.
La chambre n’était pas immense mais suffisamment équipée, propre et dotée d’une bonne literie.

Très bon rapport qualité prix et bon emplacement pour une nuit ou deux au centre de lyon.
Très bon accueil et chambre confortable.
(La limitation du débit d'eau dans la douche est cependant pas adapté si vous envisagez de vous laver les cheveux)

Nous adorons cet hôtel et c'est déjà la deuxième fois que nous y allons. L'emplacement est idéal, au centre de Lyon et calme. Les lits sont douillets et moelleux. Le personnel est super sympa. Le petit déjeuner excellent et gratuit pour les enfants ! Mmmmh ces croissants !!!

I really enjoyed staying at this perfectly located gem of a hotel, in the 2nd arrondissement, in the heart of a UNESCO world heritage site, just a 10 minute walk to Vieux Lyon (old town) and the Cathedral.
Excellent breakfast. Professional and personable staff. The manager even helped me convert the comforter to a less warm blanket.

I am a solo traveller but booked the highest level (Act III Double) room.
Room were nicely designed and had a unique and scandinavian vibe to them. Very clean, although fridge didnt seem to work but everything else was ok. Service at the front desk was friendly.
Hotel has a nice boutique and quaint vibe running through everything. Would stay here again if I came back to Lyon.
Hotel does have a bit of strange concept of leaving your keys at the front desk everytime you leave the hotel - something I couldnt understand but didnt bother me much.

J’ai passé un excellent séjour dans cet hôtel. La chambre était impeccable : spacieuse, très bien insonorisée, décorée avec goût et surtout d’une propreté irréprochable. Le lit était extrêmement confortable.
Mention spéciale pour le petit déjeuner.
Un large choix de produits frais, locaux et savoureux : viennoiseries croustillantes, fruits frais, jus pressés, œufs, fromages… Tout était délicieux et très bien présenté. Le personnel était également très attentionné, souriant et professionnel.
Un vrai coup de cœur ! Je reviendrai sans hésiter.

We stay just for one night, without breakfast. The building is situated in a safe and central area. Reception is friendly. Room 501 was clean but the carpet floor must be replaced. Is old and dirty. Also the room 501 is very small. I will return at this location. IT IS OK!!!

My 2 daughters had a room with no working air-conditioning, first night they said keep the windows open at 6 o'clock in the morning it will get cool.The second night the guy at the reception said I will tell the manager and somebody will come to fix the air-conditioning at 7 o'clock the 2nd morning so they had to wake up early bcs they did not fix the air-conditioning the first day. Our room has a window looking on the inside wall of the hotel and when I asked to change the room for a better view the receptionist said its my fault because it is mentioned on there site and I have accepted it.
.I do not recommend this hotel to anybody specially the attitude of the guy working in the daytime.
At last they changed the rooms and gave us one free breakfast. And on the last day we wanted to leave our suitcases at the reception as everybody does, but because we've put up a review about the hotel the owner didn't let us.

During my stay at this hotel with my family, the experience was really disappointing. The air conditioning in my room didn’t work for three days. We reported it multiple times, and although staff said it would be fixed, no maintenance person ever came. It was extremely uncomfortable, especially in the heat. After three days they gave us a fan.
At some point there was also upkeep issues. In our room, the bathroom floor wasn’t clean and even showed shoe prints. My parents room wasn’t cleaned at all one day - the bed wasn’t made, and no fresh towels were provided.
For the price we paid, this level of service is just not acceptable. Basic comfort and cleanliness should be a given. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless major improvements are made.

When we checked out we weren’t allowed to leave our suitcases until going to the airport. The manager said that we weren’t allowed because we left reviews that we wanted to remove. She started shouting at us while we were explaining calmly to her that we weren’t satisfied and asked for maintenance of the air conditioning. She put the blame on us for things that they did or didn’t do. I took pictures of how things were so they couldn’t put the blame on us. Upon showing the pictures of the new room, the manager denied it and said I put it there (towels and toothpick). I even showed her the toothpicks I use. When I said I couldn’t breathe well because of the air conditioning not working, she said that’s not our problem and that I put it on heating. As if I don’t know how an airconditioning works.

We stayed here in June 2025 for three nights. We reserved an “Acte III Double” room in this 3-star hotel. It was clean, comfortable, and a great location for walking to many great sights in Presqu’ile area as well as the Vieux Lyon area just across the bridges. This room type has more space than their other types, and we found it to have a decent amount of space. Our room was on the third floor (which is three floors above ground level) and looked directly at the Place des Celestins. There were events each night at the Place des Celestins, yet we found that any noise from those events was not an issue.||We opted for the daily breakfast buffet on each of our three mornings. It was delicious and had a lot of options.||If you need a place to park a car while staying at Hotel des Artists, the closest and most convenient place is the parking garage under the Place des Celestins. (The garage is not owned or operated by the hotel). The garage entrance is directly in front of the hotel front door. Note that it is expensive. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon and departed on a Sunday morning. The cost was €116.||We highly recommend this hotel.

Very Disappointing Stay.We booked a room at this hotel with a window we knew it wouldn't have a great view, but we didn't expect the view to be a plain wall right in front of us. It felt very closed off and nothing like what was shown online. We also requested two beds, but were given only one. When we asked the staff about it, they said "this is what you booked" and refused to make any changes. On top of that, they don’t clean the rooms during the stay, which was really surprising and disappointing.
Overall, the experience didn’t meet our expectations at all, and we wouldn’t stay here again. And my daughters didnt have an airconditioning that was working. When we asked to do something about it they just told us to open the window to get the room more cool. After asking for 3 days straight to do something about the warmth they gave them a ventilator.

Je déconseille fortement l’hôtel Des Artistes à Lyon. Le service est vraiment déplorable. Nous avons dormi trois nuits sans climatisation en pleine chaleur, et ce n’est que le troisième jour qu’on nous a enfin donné un ventilateur. Le personnel ne fait rien pour aider, ils restent passifs face aux problèmes. De plus, les chambres ne sont même pas nettoyées pendant le séjour. Pour un hôtel de cette catégorie, c’est tout simplement inacceptable.

The worst night we have experienced in a hotel. Air conditioning is non existent only evaporate cooling which was useless against the 33 degrees outside. Tried to change rooms but nothing was available but they gave us a fan.|You have to collect your water from downstairs, none available in the room .|No mini bars & they couldn’t provide us with a wine glass or cork screw.|Better alternatives elsewhere.

The staff at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. They were always available with a smile. They offered to provide me a water bottle if necessary, and they received a package in the mail for me. The room is comfortable and spacious with good air conditioning. The location is convenient for public transport and tourism.

Je viens régulièrement à Lyon pour le travail, c'est la première fois que je réserve dans cet hôtel et quelle très bonne surprise ! Je ne m'attendais pas à une telle qualité. Le petit déjeuner est délicieux, tout est local, bio, le service attentionné. La chambre parfaite, un rapport qualité / prix très au-dessus de tous les hôtels que j'ai pu tester à Lyon. Je recommande sans hésiter !

We had a wonderful two night stay here in Lyon. Great staff, centrally located, and nice rooms. Perfect for a short stay. Did I mention great staff?! Would recommend!!

Very minimal rooms. No lift up the first flight. And the tiniest lift (fits 1.5 people) for the remainder. Not horrible if you need a cost effective place, but not the spot if you’re seeking comfort and delight. Not sure why they have artists in the name…no art anywhere. Staff is kind. Location is great for shopping. PARKING IS 27 EUROS PER DAY
