Deliberately avoiding anything to do with booking.com (very bad experiences - but this hotel does appear there too), we stumbled on this independent, family run hotel. It is very conveniently positioned near the motorway half-way to Provence/Var/Nice. Situated in a large, secluded, mature garden. In fact, just how you would picture a large, bourgeois family villa at the turn of the 20th century - which is exactly what the building was. Interior reflects this: rooms are large, comfortable, well equipped. Some might (pedantically) call the décor old-fashioned - but it is in impeccable order and charming, calming, welcoming. The food is several classes above what you might find by pure chance, without a recommendation and/or reservation - even in nearby Lyon, the gastronomy capital of Europe. There is not enough space here to even start talking about breakfast - I would say that the food is worth the trip on it's own! Add to this very personalised welcome and service; incredibly helpful, friendly, patient and interested... Like us, you will never again go near a hotel of any other sort if you can help it!

If, like us you have had enough of faceless, bland and charmless cheap hotels, with awful food and plastic breakfasts, you won't be disappointed with this little gem. We had the warmest welcome and perfect service; nothing is too much trouble for Sylvie. Fabulous dinner and breakfast. Comfortable room. Dogs welcome.
