Lovely hotel, cozy, clean warm and beautiful! Staff and Valerie in particular was so helpful and went above and beyond to help with an item we forgot in other place in near town, and picked it up for us and dropped it in our next stay after we finished the TMB, this was so kind and much appreciated! We had the lovely dinner that had amazing vegetarian options, and also enjoyed the yummy packed lunch. Highly recommend, can’t wait to visit in the future!

Hotel Gai Soleil was the first hotel we stayed in during our modified 6-day Tour du Mont Blanc, that included hotel accommodations.
The room, bathroom, bed, and balcony were all great, as well as the meals (dinner and breakfast), outdoor area, and hospitality. This ended up being my favorite hotel after spending nights in Chamonix, Bourg-Saint-Maurice, Courmayeur, and Argentiere.
Additionally, Hotel Gai Soleil, in my opinion, included the best croissants of the trip!

My sister and I were doing the tour de mt Blanc. This was our first stop and definitely one of our favorites. Valerie and David made us feel so at home and were so welcoming. The bed was so comfortable and the breakfast delicious. Would highly recommend it as a place to stay whether or not you’re doing the TMB. Hope to go back some day.

We stayed at Hotel Gai Soleil on Day One of the Tour du Mont Blanc, and it was the perfect way to end the day. The hotel itself was lovely—comfortable, clean rooms and a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere. After a long day of hiking, we sat out on the grassy area and enjoyed a relaxing drink, soaking in the scenery.

What really made the stay stand out was the owner—so welcoming, helpful, and genuinely kind. Their hospitality made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.

Highly recommend this place to anyone walking the TMB or visiting Les Contamines!

למי שעושה TBM - יש תחנת אוטובוס לכנסייה ממש ליד המלון, אנחנו פספסנו את האוטובוס ובעלת המלון דאגה לנו למונית.
ארוחת בוקר מצויינת , יש גם ארוחת ערב נהדרת.
ממליץ בחום גם להזמין כריך לדרך מהצוות של המלון, ממש טעים ומושקע מאוד.

The moment we arrived at Gai Soleil we fell in love. The views are endless and spectacular, every little detail in taken care of with love, the flowers and gray and little seating areas are so charming. The owner and hostess, Valerie, was absolutely sweet. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. She has this joyfulness that immediately makes you feel connected. The hotel is very authentic, with a lot of local decorations added to make it as cozy as possible. The room we stayed in had a huge wooden window that opens up directly to the mountains. We did not eat dinner there, but saw the dishes and they looked amazing. We did have breakfast - basic but sufficient. |Valerie also helped us figure out how to get to our next destination. We only stayed one night and definitely hope to come again!

The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. We arrived after a long day hiking on the TMB. Valerie helped us book a luggage transfer which we desperately needed. She also helped us book a quick taxi ride for the next morning. We booked a room with a balcony and it was just beautiful! This hotel was just what we needed after our first day on the TMB! Close walk into town. Would absolutely recommend staying here! Lovely breakfast and dinner options!

Knus hotel, heel aardig personeel. Op een paar minuten lopen van alle winkels en restaurants van Contamines. De hottub en de sauna zijn zo fijn! Wij hebben hier drie heerlijke dagen gehad en we zouden zeker terugkomen.

Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour dans cet hôtel plein de charme. La décoration est réalisée avec beaucoup de goût. Les propriétaires sont très prévenants et à l’écoute, tout y est bien organisé. Le petit déjeuner très bon et sain. Nous recommandons vivement.

I needed a last minute hotel for my ski trip due to my original accommodation not being comfortable. Valerie from Hotel Gai Soleil came to my rescue and managed to sort me a room last minute. She went above and beyond to make my stay brilliant, she drove me to my old accommodation to pick up my luggage, helped book me a taxi to the airport and allowed me to have a late check out so that I could enjoy a last morning of skiing. ||It really turned my trip around and made it a very enjoyable experience. ||I would stay here again if I ever came to Les Contamines and would 100% recommend Hotel Gai Soleil as a comfortable, cosy place to say.

Décoration typique montagne. On se sent bien, on peut parler de vraie hôtellerie. L'accueil est chaleureux tout est impeccable. Propre nickel confortable literie super. Un jaccuzi vient compléter cet endroit pour les clients réguliers qui reviennent avec plaisir.

Very warm welcome and friendly hosts. Quiet location but easy access to the main thoroughfare for restaurants and shops. Very comfortable bed. Fantastic buffet breakfast. Room quite small but perfectly adequate for a few days’ skiing. Balcony not used but would be nice to sit out in the summer.

Dans le cadre de notre mariage, nous avons sollicité l'équipe du Gai Soleil pour privatiser l'établissement et y loger nos invités pour 2 nuitées. Valérie, la directrice de l'hôtel, s'est d'emblée montrée disponible, à l'écoute et réactive. Tout au long des préparatifs, elle a tout mis en oeuvre pour s'adapter à nos besoins et nous rendre la vie facile. Lors du week-end du mariage, nos invités et nous-mêmes avons eu le bonheur de loger dans un établissement soigneusement décoré dans le style chalet de montagne, avec une vue à couper le souffle sur les sommets, tout en étant extrêmement confortable et chaleureux - petits et grands ont tellement bien dormi! L'organisation d'un mariage est très stressant, et Valérie et David, en plus d'être des personnes sincèrement gentilles et bienveillantes, ont fait en sorte que nous n'ayons à ne nous soucier de rien. Nous ne pouvions pas espérer meilleur séjour ni meilleur mariage. Merci du fond du coeur ????

This chalet is very charming with the rooms decorated beautifully and beds very comfortable. Our room had a beautiful view. The outside of the chalet was adorned heavily with floral arrangements and the back-yard beer garden area provided and excellent place to relax in the sun after a full day of hiking. The food was plentiful and hearty, with service that was very good. Although the menu was fixed, they offered a soup, charcuterie board, tartiflette, bread, potatoes and dessert. You won’t go hungry! |Service was outstanding as well, with the family providing excellent information and guidance for our TMB hike. Would love to stay again if I return to the area.

A lovely hotel. We arrived to a very warm and friendly welcome from the owners. The hotel is perfectly placed with restaurants and shops just a few minutes away on foot. Our bedroom was lovely and breakfast delicious! We highly recommend staying here.

We stayed here as we were hiking the TMB, and it was incredibly comfortable, quiet, and so perfectly located! The dinner was one of the best we had the entire time we were on the trail, and the breakfast was also outstanding. I would certainly stay here again!

This was by far my favorite place along the TMB route we stayed. The service was great, the dinner was outstanding. The lodging was cozy and clean. They had a lovely garden area outside to sit and relax! Would highly recommend this place!

We visited Gai Soleil again this year as we so LOVED it when we did the TMB 5 years ago.|It is the perfect little hotel to stay in this beautiful town in a gorgeous part of the Alps, ||The service is great|The beds are very comfortable|The garden is a great place to wind down with a great view of the mountains with a drink in your hand. ||I cannot recommend it enough |only disappointment is we did not stay longer!

Stayed for a week for our ski trip and absolutely loved it. Family chose the hotel for nostalgic reasons and I’d love to come back for when we have little ones to complete tradition. The host and hostess were very friendly and compliments to the chef for the very nice meals we had during our stay. The rooms were lovely and cosy and the ambience fits an alpine lodge, absolutely perfect. The views out the window were fantastic and magical. The living room was also a nice place to hang around where you can order drinks from the bar or some nibbles. Overall, an amazing stay and planning to come back hopefully next ski season ⛷️ ❤️

The double bunk bed room was a bit tiny, but the overall hotel experience was pleasant. The staff was friendly, and the hotel's location is perfect for those walking the Tour du Mont Blanc.
