CHALET ALPAGE ^{* * *}

Recently back from a 5 night stay over New Year at this lovely chalet set in the beautiful surroundings of La Clusaz. The Chalet Manager Jeromme and his staff were excellent and really looked after us, nothing was too much trouble. The evening meal was exceptional, 3 courses almost every night apart from the Fondue night (as this was very filling!), breakfast was continental with locally sourced ingredients from the farm opposite the chalet. We had room 5 for 3 persons, we were 2 adults and one teenager - and there was plenty of room and storage. Lovely hot shower, fluffy towels and comfy beds and bedding. Rooms were quiet and decorated very nicely with lots of antique skiing equipment. We didnt have a car so we used the local bus service, we only used it once as were quite happy to stay at the Chalet most nights but just wanted to have a little look in town and get a souvenir. The bus service does seem a little hit and miss and does get very busy. It doesnt run very late and the drop off and pick up bus stops were in completely different locations in the village but this is obviously nothing to do wth the Chalet. We used Manigod Ski Ride to hire our equipment as recommended by the Chalet upon booking, they were excellent and delivered/collected our equipment to the Chalet. Also used AlloTaxi74 for our transfers as recommended by the Chalet on booking, again they were very good, friendly and efficient and good value for money, they even stopped at the ticket office for us on the way to the Chalet so we could pick up our lift passes. The chalet is situated next to an easy blue (which leads all the way to the village centre) or a drag lift, both of which link up to the whole La Clusaz/Manigod area, we had 4 days skiing at intermediate level and there were plenty of runs for us. I cant find fault with this Chalet hence 5 stars all round, we would return.

We’ve had a wonderful stay at this lovely chalet set in the beautiful surroundings of the French Alps. The welcome was warm and heartfelt and the chalet had every facility to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast was a traditional continental breakfast with butter and yogurt sourced from nearby farms. There is a swimming pool; it is not open in the winter, however we did make use of the hot tub and sauna. We had a room for 4 even though there were 3 of us - 2 adults and one teenager - and there was plenty of room and storage. Note that the ‘mezzanine’ sleeping area of the room has a really low ceiling (due to the shape of the chalet) so not adequate for really tall people! I would say that the chalet is more suited to guests with a car as it is a 10 minute drive from the centre of La Clusaz. We did not have a car, therefore we made use of the bus into the centre, although the last bus back is at approx 6pm. We ate in the chalet for a couple of evening meals and both were wonderful. All in all we had a fabulous week in The Chalet Alpage and would return in a heartbeat.

Tout été parfait. Le service, l hôtel, les responsables.... La chambre ... Exceptionnel !! Rien a dire sauf qu on reviendra ????????
