Mérite ses deux étoiles. À part une serveuse le service est aussi bourru que peuvent l'être les montagnards, les chambres sont vieilleset peu pratiques, et les parties communes sont moches.
Le bar est sympa

Good small hotel in a great location in Chamonix. The room was big for 3 people and was clean. We were worried that the bar downstairs would be too loud (we had a room with mountain view, hence right above the bar), but it closes at 8pm, which is still very early especially in the summer. The breakfast was small but good.

Our only issue was the staff. As said in previous comments, there is no exclusive staff for the hotel - they are ultimately all the bar staff that just happens to give you keys. Normally this isn’t a huge issue, but we had no soap in our room, so we had to ask them. They were very defensive about it, didn’t believe us and said it was impossible that there was no soap. So one of us went to the room with them - they showed us the soap saying “See, this is the soap - you have to press on it/skeeze it”. And surprise surprise, there was no soap. We we were treated like clueless people who don’t even no how to use soap - just because we were foreigners (and were speaking to them in our limited, but understandable French). Very humiliating experience. But well, we got our soap.

The hotel management should make sure staff is trained to treat all guests with respect.

The locación it's excelent, just in the middle of Chamonix, also the views from the room are magnificent.

petit hôtel familial avec vue sur le Mont blanc et au centre ville , proche des points d intérêts, petit déjeuner essentiel ,nous étions dans une chambre familiale avec petit balcon ,,avec l essentiel .personnel très sympathique,a l ecoute , chambre faite tous les matins

They don't have any microwave oven in common areas or facilities. seriously!
The owner/Manager/staff behaviour is not good and not cooperative.
They don't have any dedicated person in front desk or for any kind of help.
Compare to all facilities the price is high
May be the owner never visited any other places or country that's why they does not know what basic facilities should they provide in 2025 era. It's a shame.
Personally I did not like so I will not recommend the hotel to anyone.

Chambre très mal insonorisé, nous étions a la chambre 103, la porte de sortie derrière l'hôtel très bruyante, petit déjeuner peu copieux, malgré un emplacement splendide !

The hotel was not new but kept clean and conftable. Very nice view through window. Location was good for outing, a bit noisy at night.
I will take this hotel into account if I have any opportunities to stay Chamonix.

Tremendous 2 star hotel in the centre of Chamonix!||Stayed here for 4 days and it is simply perfect if you want a budget friendly stay. It is clean, quiet although does come with a side order of shabby chic.||Beds are clean and comfortable, breakfast bountiful and the bar downstairs perfect for a chilled beer.||Add in free parking and a ski boot plus you can walk to a ski lift (Brevent), albeit up a small hill.||It’s perfect and unbeatable value.||Merci

Convenient, cosy, clean and, comfortable. Noisy until late at night (2am) due to central location. Smelt a little musty and very dated. Get what you pay for. What we expected . Good value for money. Owner was lovely snd explained hotel due a needed upgrade later this year . Morning staff appalling and shouted/swore at me profusely in front of my children , so for that reason I left disappointed and will not return .

Nous n'avions pas de service recouche dans cet hôtel, serviettes, savons, gel douche étaient quasiment vide. A part cela le service petit déjeuner et le serveur sont super! Sauf la dame qui fait le ménage au rez-de-chaussée de chaussée qui n'était pas du tout gentille, ni accueillante. Nous avons ceci dit passé un bon séjour.

Il n'y a pas de service de chambre pendant le séjour (recouches ne sont pas faites, pas de nouvelles serviettes malgré l'inscription de les mettre par terre pour qu'elles soient renouvellées). Il n'y avait même pas de savon, ni shampoing alors que je l'ai signalé la première nuit. Le personnel est accueillant et proposent des solutions pour se garer et c'est très arrangeant ça. Par contre la dame qui s'occupe des chambres de taille moyenne cheveux mi long n'est vraiment pas commode, c'est la seule personne qui n'est pas courtoise voire même condescendante et c'est dommage; elle chasse les clients du local petit-déjeuner alors que celui ci est ouvert après 11 heures ...
Un gros chien est dans l'entrée mais très doux et gentil (OTTO)
Je reste mitigé concernant cette expérience mais le petit déjeuner est très bien donc je mets 3/5
Conseils: beaucoup de marches si vous êtes au 4 ème étage
Prendre son linge de douche et ses produits de douche.

Nous avons payé plus de 350 francs pour cette chambre, ce qui est totalement disproportionné par rapport aux prestations offertes. Nous comprenons que c’était la nuit du Nouvel An, mais justifier une telle hausse de prix pour une chambre exiguë, mal chauffée et insuffisamment propre est inacceptable. Cette expérience a été particulièrement décevante. Nous ferons part de notre mécontentement à notre entourage et ne reviendrons assurément jamais. Par ailleurs, nous transmettrons un rapport détaillé à la Fédération des hôteliers pour signaler ces pratiques inappropriées. Je suis extrêmement choqué.

Positives: great location!
Negatives: the reason you stay in a hotel is to have somewhere to sleep and get a shower. I couldn’t sleep, because there was no curtain for the window and there was flashing lights outside from the winter market (like a big Christmas tree with lights in and many other electric lights of different kinds). It lit up our whole room. It is sloppy and lazy to not bother to put up a curtain.
I couldn’t shower for the same reason. There was a huge window in the bathroom, overlooking the square and the winter market outside. To be in the shower would’ve meant for everyone outside on the busy square seeing me naked. Even to go to the toilet would be something the people outside could see. At night we would have to go to the toilet in the dark so people wouldn’t see us from outside. Just put up a curtain goddamnit, it’s that simple.
In other words - our basic needs and expectations were not met. Fortunately we only stayed for one night, so we could leave the showering for the next hotel.
No fire alarms in the room either, despite the wooden walls.

Si on peut parler de l'emplacement c'est super mais le service n'est pas à la heuteur spécialement notre premiere nuit on a trouvé que la couverture de lit n'est pas propre aussi le papier de toilette n'est pas assez lorsque on a réclamé sur ce point de papier de toilette on nous a dit qu'on doit attendre seulement 5 minutes mais malheureusement on a attendu 2 heures dans notre chambre pour avoir le papier de toilette

We arrived in the small town of Chamonix, France on December 29th, excited to celebrate New Year's Eve and ring in 2024. We had booked a room at the Hotel Le Chamonix a few months in advance.

However, when we got to the hotel, we found the front door locked and the lobby completely dark. There was no sign or notice indicating the hotel had closed. We asked some locals if they knew anything, and found out that the Hotel Le Chamonix had abruptly shut down just a day before without informing any guests or customers.

This left us stranded late at night on New Year's Eve weekend without a place to stay in a very small town where everything was already booked up. It was incredibly frustrating and stressful to unexpectedly find our reservations worthless with nowhere to go and very limited options.

We eventually found another hotel on the outskirts of town at almost triple the rate we had initially booked (approximately $1000 a night). Not only was the price an issue, but also the hotels we found were only able to accommodate us for a partial stay. While we were ultimately able to have a place to stay for the night, the experience completely ruined our special holiday plans that we had eagerly anticipated for months. Being an international traveler we had everything pre-booked, so it was not possible for us to change our departure date from Chamonix and update our new arrival date at the next hotel without a penalty. No compensation or assistance was offered by the Hotel Le Chamonix either.

I would never recommend the Hotel Le Chamonix (if it were even still open) after such an unacceptable lack of consideration and communication with booked guests. It was unprofessional, inconsiderate, and a nightmare experience during what should have been a celebratory holiday. Other travelers should consider themselves warned about the lack of reliability or accountability this establishment showed us firsthand. Till this day we still have not received any apology or anything in regards to why it was closed.

Super hotel de centre ville tres agréable.
Un très bon accueil de la part de la jeune fille qui prepare le petit déjeuner.
