HÔTEL CAPELONGUE ^{* * * * *}

This has been a fantastic stay! Two nights with pure nature, serenity, and architectural beauty. The lap pool was incredible and cool with great pool service. Their Cafe Frappe is fantastic! The restaurant overlooks the most beautiful sunset with live music. Not to mention their sublime estate with provence-like houses for the rooms! What a great stay.

We have been visiting this part of France for many years and have stayed at 2 other 5 star hotels previously within the Gordes region so we absolutely wanted to try a new location.||We had previously visited Capelongue a few years back and had dinner at the restaurant. What was apparent then (and now) is this location takes you back to the 1970s… think Brutalist style meets Provence chill ????||The rooms are amazing: relaxing, simple decor but beautiful. The Pool is 1970s concrete style and set within a well kept landscaped garden. There are ample deck loungers around the pool and even a second pool located near their 1 Michelin star restaurant La Bastide.||We ate at both La Bastide and La Bergerie (more relaxed) restaurants. La Bastide was amazing and yes it does take 3 hours to get through the menu but it was worth it! We met the talented younger chef who has a big future ahead (truly the smoke eel and carrot dishes!). A big shout out to the waiter who looked after us (worked in Hong Kong for 10 years)… very very knowledgeable on all aspects of of the food we ate! Another big star ⭐.||The not so good… Rooms are not cleaned at regular times so sometimes it’s 3pm and other times it can later… difficult to plan your day if you need to get changed etc. however, calling the reception team does sort things out quickly.||The service at La Bergerie was very very long on the first night: 30mins to get an aperitif etc etc nearly 1 hour wait for some food. I personally blame (not the team) but the policy of accepting big groups: 2 tables of total 17 people (9+8). My recommendation to the mgt team is fixed menu for groups over 6 pax. Sorry but kitchens cannot cope with those numbers.||Again, had a word with the reception team and the following times, service was much much better ????||So why a 5 out of 5? Because other than those 2 nags, as soon as something was not right, they dealt with it! The hotel setting is amazing and the entire hotel quality is very high. We were incredibly sad to leave!||BRAVO ????

The stay was acceptable, but several details were missing for a 5-star resort. Restaurant service was disappointing, and without our consent, staff automatically added a nearly 30% tip, which is something to be aware of.

Nous avons séjourné à capelongue 2 nuits avec ma femme au mois de juin. Tout était PARFAIT ! De la chambre au spa aux restaurants et aux piscine. Tout est sublime et le personnel est souriant, professionnel et à l’écoute. |Nous recommandons à 100%
