The room was very spacious and clean. Larger than any others we encountered in France. On the night we stayed, it was very hot and the portable A/C struggled to keep the room cool. Otherwise, a great place to stay.

When I arrived at the Avignon Grand Hotel, I had the pleasure of meeting Julien Lavenant, the Front Office Manager, who was exceptionally kind and helpful. I was experiencing some difficulties with my reservation made through Agoda, but Julien went above and beyond to assist me with genuine care and professionalism. This is my first trip to France—a long-awaited journey from Korea—and thanks to Julien, my very first impression of Avignon has become truly special.

Though I’ve traveled extensively, it is rare to encounter someone with such a strong sense of service and sincere dedication to guest satisfaction. Julien made my stay at the Grand Hotel not only smooth but genuinely memorable. Because of this wonderful experience, I will be sure to recommend the Avignon Grand Hotel to many people when I return home

À la première occasion, remplacer la moquette par un autre revêtement ! Matelas excellent ! La porte de la douche laisse passer de l’eau (étanchéité du joint ).

Bel hôtel situé proche du centre ville.
Dommage que la climatisation est si bruyante dans la chambre ;
pas de sèche-cheveux dans la salle de bains dont l’aménagement pourrait être amélioré.
Personnel accueillant et disponible.

Went on a family vacation. Do make sure not to request a duplex “suite”. As you can see, if you want AC, this is the state of the room on the second floor of the suite. Windows wide open for AC to operate. Definitely not a 4 star. We also mentioned we had injured individuals that cannot use the second floor, and was told they had no rooms so deal with it essentially. Note that we stayed 3 days there… not even an offer to switch during any of the days.

The staircases were rattling and squeaking (see video) for reference.

Location was excellent. If you want a place that is close but outside the walls of Avignon and a nearby parking area, go for it. Personally don’t feel the price and hotel rating is justified.

First of all, this is most definitely NOT a 4-star hotel. Some rooms will only have portable A/C that requires that you leave the balcony doors/window wide open throughout the night if you want cool air, not to mention bringing in hot air, dust, and mosquitoes.

The hallways are damp and smell musty, the furnitures are very worn down and the breakfast is one of the worst I've seen - worse than Holiday Inns I've been to in the U.S. While there are some employees that are competent and professional, a vast majority of the employees (including the cleaning staff in particular) would not even say hello when you pass by them and your eyes meet (or even when you say hello first). In fact, they actually yelled at my father for going into his own room for trying to retrieve something he left inside - he hadn't checked out at that point and literally went back in 5 minutes after he left.

Amenities are 2- or 3-star level in U.S. standards, and again no A/C near or in the bathrooms. Filled water bottles are only complimentary upon check-in, and not provided on a daily basis like you'd expect from a 4-star hotel.

If you're using their family suite, be warned that a majority of these rooms seem to be two-floor units and you don't have a choice as to whether you get one with or without the stairs. We were on a family trip where two of the family members happened to have foot injuries - while they switched one of the rooms, they refused to make any accommodations for the second room. The stairs themselves are poorly secured to the wall and present a safety hazard. Two people ended up sleeping on the couch because we couldn't access the second floor with ease. Plus, if you have suitcases you will never be able to bring them upstairs, foot injury or not.

Location-wise, this is next to the train station so it could be convenient for some, but it's not very close to the Avignon old city center.

All in all, I would highly discourage any of my friends from staying at this hotel. The hardship/fatigue we experienced during our stay here had a lasting effect on the rest of our trip and honestly ruined Avignon for me. Not sure if I'd ever come back, but even if I do, I'll be sure to rule this one out.

Das Hotel liegt sehr gut. Das Personal ist freundlich und es ist sauber geputzt. Leider sind die Zimmer abgelebt. In unserer Familien-Suite, war ein Fenster abgeklebt und man fühlte sich wie in einem Keller. Die mobilen Klimaanlagen machen sehr laut. Die Kopfkissen sind hoch und hart. Der Weg zum Pool ist, genau wie die Zimmer, sehr lieblos. Das Frühstück ist die 18 Euro nicht wert. Es wäre schön, wenn man das Frühstück im Innenhof essen könnte. Der Parkplatz wird an der Kasse pro Stunde abgerechnet, keine Flat Rate.

Wonderfully placed for walking into Avignon. Very comfortable hotel with spacious rooms. Large public car park with access to the hotel.We will be returning

This was steps from the central train station and walking distance to all the important Avignon restaurants and sites. We got a two room suite with TV in bedroom and living room. THe bed was superbly comfortable and the towels were luxurious and big. My husband got his shower and I got a lovely bathtub. Everything about the hotel is amazing. We did not have the breakfast because we just weren't hungry enough for that lavish spread but we should have! Fabulous in every way!!

À fuir... un hôtel indigne de recevoir et de posséder 4 étoiles... Clim obsolète, mobile qui fait 90 décibels. Lorsque je l'ai signalé au chef de réception, ce dernier n'avait aucune solution à nous proposer car nous étions à l'ouverture du festival d'Avignon mais il voulait bien nous sur-classer en nous facturant le coût supplémentaire. J'ai eu droit à " vous aviez des solutions plus économiques". En plus d'avoir un aspect négligé (veston taché et pantalon non repassé), l'individu dont c'est le métier de trouver des solutions lorsque les chambres ne répondent pas aux attentes des clients, a été particulièrement hautain et condescendant en le parlant de l'hôtel ibis.
Pardon cher monsieur mais à l'hôtel ibis, la climatisation ne fait pas 90 décibels et est fonctionnelle dans les parties communes, cela vous éviterait de dégouliner de sueur devant les clients.

Hôtel avec vue sur les remparts, clairement l emplacement est idéal ;
Le hall, piscine et salle de petit déjeuner bien entretenus, par contre les couloirs en moquette desservant les chambres demanderaient un bon nettoyage comme celles en chambre d ailleurs ;
Les sanitaires et les lits étaient propres ce qui était agréable;
Le personnel était sympathique

I can't understand why people(including my travel agent), disparage this hotel. Initial impression of our Junior Suite was WOW! Half is a sitting room with settee and chairs, the other divided between the bedroom with a huge bed and bathroom with a wash basin area and a separate toilet/shower/bath. There was a spacious balcony overlooking the garden, with a table and chairs. Loads of storage space; fridge; safe; wardrobe etc. Breakfast is fine-plenty of choice. Reception and bar staff were all exceptionally friendly, helpful and pleasant, including the young trainee lady. You can also sit out and enjoy the garden. There is a small pool, not for swimming, bit fine for a dip. Situated just outside the town walls, so quiet at night, but handy for the train and both bus stations ans an easy walk into the town. We loved this hotel.

Lovely staff .... great position for the city and the train station .... interior is clean as a whistle but a little dated .... great stopover hotel ..

飯店設備老舊但是空間蠻大的，早餐沒有太多選擇。住了3晚都是一樣菜色。住3晚只有第一天提供2瓶礦泉水，第二天要礦泉水必需自付不太合理。

The hotel is in a great location, the receptionist is very nice, the room space and facilities are very complete, it is worth recommending to friends.

O hotel é muito bem localizado, em uma das entradas da muralha, que dá acesso aos restaurantes, comércio e atrações turísticas.

Comfortable rooms, but oldish design.

Un bel hôtel, très bien situé juste à côté de l'entrée de la ville, dans les remparts.
Le service était très agréable, très souriant, à l'écoute, répondant clairement et simplement à toutes les questions.
La chambre était parfaite, belle, propre, bien équipée.
Le petit déjeuner était très bien, variés. Point positif pour la machine à pancakes qui a beaucoup amusé les enfants.
Un bel endroit pour découvrir cette belle ville.

Great location just next to the gare central and a few meters from the city walls. Excellent staff - very friendly, helpful and chatty.

Accueil long et nos chambres devaient être prêtre à 16h finalement elles étaient prêtre 16h30 !

Le personnel m'a pratiquement envoyé boulé !
Les chambres sont spacieuses mais ils sont radin sur les doses de gel douche et papier toilette.

Et le pire de tout c'est le lieu de la chambre nous avons entendu le bruit du moteur de la piscine toute la nuit ! Comme si on dormait à côté d'un aéroport !
Nous avons averti le gardien de nuit à 4h il nous a dit " désolé : en gros il peut rien faire.

Scandaleux ! Nous avons pris deux chambres à deux le tarif était de 358euros la nuit à ce prix nous pensions dormir tranquillement !

Bref fuyez cet hôtel, moi qui pensait faire plaisir mon mari pour son anniversaire ! Très déçu, attention ils ne précisent pas que le restaurant partenaire sur leur site est situé à l' extérieur de l'hôtel ! Vous aurez la surprise en arrivant! En définitif il y a rien de bien dans cet hôtel.
