Unfortunately while I was visiting the ground floor was closed due to the preparation for the temporary exhibition. But a charming little collection of impressionist paintings on the second floor is very corresponding to the spirit of Saint Tropez city

This museum has a magnificent collection: Signac, Seurat, Derain, Vlaminck, Maillol, Matisse, Marquet, van Dongen… The works are well enhanced by the architecture of this old chapel and its alcoves.

Το Musée de l'Annonciade είναι ένα μουσείο τέχνης που βρίσκεται στο Saint-Tropez και στεγάζει μια συλλογή έργων ζωγραφικής από τον 19ο και τον 20ό αιώνα (περίοδος 1890-1950), υπενθυμίζοντας ότι το Saint-Tropez ήταν εκείνη την εποχή ένα από τα κέντρα ζωγραφικής δημιουργίας. Εκεί μερικοί από τους μεγαλύτερους ζωγράφους της avant-garde όπως ο Matisse και ο Braque συγκεντρώθηκαν γύρω από τον Paul Signac.Το μουσείο στεγάζεται στο πρώην παρεκκλήσι της Notre-Dame de l'Annonciade, από το οποίο πήρε το όνομά του. Χτίστηκε γύρω στο 1510 από την αδελφότητα των Λευκών Μετανοητών και πουλήθηκε ως εθνική περιουσία κατά τη διάρκεια της Επανάστασης,για να μετατραπεί τελικά σε μουσείο.

De passage sur saint Tropez je me faisais un plaisir de visiter un musée. En fauteuil roulant, avec 2 marches à l’entrée, la personne à l’accueil me signale qu’il n’y a aucun accès handicapé, et que dans 2 ans, le musée sera accessible ! Assez déçue évidement, la ville aurait pu financer une rampe devant l’entrée, serait-ce trop onéreux ? A dans 2 ans !

Charmant petit musée ou j'aime passer lorsque je viens à Saint-Tropez. La collection permanente est à l'échelle du musée : modeste, mais d'une très grande qualité. La petite salle basse offre un regard choisi sur des artistes plus contemporains, mis en parallèle avec les œuvres que l'on retrouve dans le parcours.
Je trouverais intéressant d'avoir des cartels plus fournis, proposant une lecture des œuvres et pas simplement leur libellé.

Ce musée possède une collection magnifique : Signac, Seurat, Derain, Vlaminck, Maillol, Matisse, Marquet, van Dongen… Les oeuvres sont bien valorisées par l’architecture de cette ancienne chapelle et de ses alcôves.

Toujours sympa de passer dans ce Musée. Les peintures d'Alain Godon sont lumineuses, mi peinture mi bd, et rafraîchissent le Musée. Celles de Signac sont toujours aussi belkes ❤️????

This little gem of a museum is right on the sea-front. It looks over the port of St Tropez. Paintings by famous impressionists depict that same port. The scenery in the paintings contrasts massively with the port today. Brigitte Bardot made the town famous, but for sure she could not have expected that her beauty would attract such huge oversized yachts registered in tax free havens to come and squeeze into that little fishing port.
