CAMPING LE DATTIER ^{* * * *}

The campsite is on a hill outside frejus. That is to say the reception pools and bar are at the top. The plots slope down a steep hill and if, like us, you are unfortunate enough to be at the bottom you need a Sherpa to get you back up to the site’s facilities. When I say facilities there is no little onsite shop for essentials like milk or bread. The site is desperately overgrown, the trees and shrubs have had no attention for some years and it feels like you are in a sort of unpleasant jungle. The website refers to nature - well there are lost tribes in the vegetation! Impossible to sit on the decked area due to the overgrown vegetation plus the added bonus of visitors of the 6 and 8 legged variety. The whole site is very poorly maintained, we had a washing machine in our caravan and I’m glad we didn’t need to use the block facilities which are quite dreadful. We have camped extensively in this part of France and can honestly say it is the worst site we have stayed on. Avoid is our advice,

Liked: La piscina che abbiamo usato per 10 minuti di orologio perché poi ha chiuso. Poi ci è piaciuta la gentilezza e la cortesia della ragazza al bar.

Disliked: Oltre alle due note qui sopra, ho un lungo elenco, posso iniziare dalle feci di topo nei bagni a cui ho scattato delle foto, senza considerare che non c'era nessun tipo di servizio, nemmeno la carta igienica. Non c'era un cestino per la spazzatura. Insomma questo riguarda i bagni. Nella Piazzolla non c'era ombra. L'attacco per la corrente era lontano e non funzionava per il caricatore. Inizialmente dal sito avevo visto fosse abbastanza vicino al mare ma no, dista ben 5 km dal mare, perciò l'unica attività ludica dentro tutto il camping era giocare nella sala giochi: il biliardino (calcio balilla) costava un euro, e ok. Ma fosse il problema del costo, tiriamo la leva e scende giù una pallina di plastica apribile che sicuramente ha messo dentro qualche bimbo, ma nessuna pallina, vado a chiedere al bar ma non se ne occupano loro, se ne occupa la reception che indovinate un po'??? Aveva appena chiuso (alle 19.30) quindi per qualsiasi cosa in ogni caso ci saremmo dovuti arrangiare. Come se non bastasse il wifi era a pagamento. È ovvio che mi infurio se ho pagato 43 €per una notte solo per poggiare la tenda in un camping che ha 4 stelle, ho lavorato in camping e ho girato e non è un camping 4 stelle è una truffa. Mi spiace perché è veramente raro che metta recensioni, soprattutto negative. Il tuffo nell' 85 è stato anche divertente, dato che sembrava un posto fermo nel tempo soprattutto la sala giochi però piuttosto scriviamo "CAMPING (SENZA STELLE) 85'S EXPERIENCE". Almeno sappiamo a cosa andiamo in contro. E magari abbassate i prezzi che 43€ per un posto al sole è veramente troppo. Non dico nulla sulla "pizza" perché siamo in Francia e io sono sarda, il mio compagno pizzaiolo e ok... MA NON CHIAMATELA PIZZA ALMENO! Ci fa male al cuore vedere un disco da frisbee essere chiamato pizza. Comunque sapevo che non sarebbe stata buona una cosa, surgelata pagata comunque 10 euro la margherita, ma ci ho voluto credere

Liked: Het vriendelijke ontvangst. Het fantastische restaurant en heerlijk zwembad. Prachtig uitzicht.

Disliked: Schoonmaak toilet en douche eens in 3 dagen.
Geen afvoer voor camper vuilwater en geen chemisch toilet afvoer.
Het mooiste zwembad was leeg, de blikvanger van de website waar je eerste indruk ligt. Ver van supermarkt en stad. 6 douches, 2 toiletten. (2 sanitairgebouwen waren gesloten) Van plaats naar ingang hele steile helling . Betalen voor WIFI.
Geringe opening receptie, geen broodjes mogelijk.

Great place to be . Very near to all attractions around frejus. The mobile vans are a good base but don't expect 5 star rooms there is a big big hill on the lot but there is also a great restaurant with food so good

This is NOT a campsite for caravans, especially not large British caravans. There is NO drinking water on site and nowhere to empty waste and no tap. My husband has an HGV licence and has manoeuvred our twin axle caravan on many difficult campsites, but even we got stuck and would have ripped off the bottom of our caravan. Thanks to the lovely people that have static caravans on the site who all came to help us, we managed to dislodge our caravan. I absolutely do not recommend this site for those touring caravans. At the entrance to the pitches, often there are trees making the aperture smaller. There is a one way system in place but the road is narrow, uneven and steep. We arrived on a Sunday when the office is closed - it took about ten minutes for someone to arrive and check us in. There are two pools, which are nice and the sun beds were really comfy but only 24 beds between two pools, which in August when busy, would not have been enough. The site itself is well established with plenty of shade from trees. We didn’t go to the restaurant as it was end of season and hardly open. Good recycling area and sinks for pot washing but disabled toilets locked and whilst the wasing block was lovely, there were so many more showers than the two toilets that were there. Too many issues for us to return in terms of access but the site needs to be tidied up too, very shabby. Really lovely residents in static caravans but too difficult for a touring caravan.
