I made a booking through Airbnb, and unfortunately, the same day I lost my dad
and send the death certificate as proof and informed the host within 10 hours of making the booking that I needed to cancel due to the funeral. Despite the circumstances, the host showed no understanding or tolerance. He instructed me to cancel the booking immediately and did not issue only partial refund, said his company financials are weakened!! and subsequently rebooked the place to another guest. I also propose to book their space again in the future when the situation is over and when I travel to Marseille but there was zero acceptance. He claimed to loose money yet the place is immediately booked to another guest immediately after I cancel in 11 hours, 10 days before my travel date!!

Airbnb was very helpful throughout this process, he didnt even reply to my messages and Airbnb told that they will be 100% refunding due to the death but unfortunately, the host refused to issue a refund!! even under such special circumstances. This showed a lack of humanity and understanding. I had informed them more than 10 days before my travel and less than 24 hours after booking, yet the host rebooked and essentially doubled their earnings. It's truly disappointing.

**NOTE: After I wrote this review, the hotel below dared to reply to the comment as below because the review is visible to other guests, but everything he claims not TRUE! Airbnb contacted him to issue a full refund due to my dad's death, but the hotel didn't accept it! Also, there has been no response from him to my messages.

Great location, very central. The host was super nice and accommodating. Breakfast was just out of this world. Definitely recommend

Ubicación céntrica. Todo cerca caminando. Los anfitriones amorosos, nos dieron una cálida bienvenida y nos han permitido gestionar el check in antes de lo previsto. Desayuno espectacular. Lo único que podría decir como sugerencia es que modifiquen el baño de ducha, y que por la noche se escuchaban puertas que se abrían y cerraban constantemente y eso no nos permitió dormir muy bien.

Sehr tolle Unterkunft. Der Gastgeber Christophe war sehr sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir waren schon früh am morgen in Marseille und konnten bereits kurz nach 12 Uhr unser Zimmer beziehen, viel früher als normalerweise angedacht. Es wurde sehr auf Sauberkeit geachtet, das Zimmer wurde täglich gereinigt und die Handtücher gewechselt. Der Gastgeber Christophe ist auch bestens auf einzelne Wünsche eingegangen. Das Frühstück war etwas anders als man es normalerweise kennt, aber positiv anders. Jeden Morgen gab es zur Wunschuhrzeit ein Tablett mit reichlich zu Essen aufs Zimmer gebracht. Es gab Baguette, Croissants, Schokobrötchen, selbstgemachte Marmeladen und vieles mehr. Es war eine schöne Erfahrung sich auch mal das Laufen am Buffet zu sparen und die Ruhe beim frühstücken zu genießen. Sehr angenehm ruhig war es auch in der Nacht trotz der zentralen Lage der Unterkunft. Man braucht nicht lange bis zum nächsten großen Einkaufszentrum (ca. 12 Minuten) oder zum Hafen (ca. 15-20 Minuten).
Mein Mann und ich können die Unterkunft wärmstens empfehlen!
