VILLA LA COSTE ^{* * * * *}

今まで宿泊したホテル中でトップ３に入る経験です。広大なワインシャトーの中に、美術品が点在しているというそもそものコンセプトが壮大です。ビラからの眺めもこれまた壮大です。冬なのでプールとかは入れませんでしたし、星付きレストランは休みでしたが、イタリアンは美味でした。冬のすいている時期に訪問したためもあるかもですが、対応も極めててきぱきしていました。唯一、謎なのは、アメックスのFHRの特典が、イタリアンレストランでは使えない（経営が別？？）というようなことを言われたような気がしましたが、結局使えた点でした。何度も確認したのですが。。まあ、細かなことではありますが。

If you like hotels, art and architecture then this is your dream hotel. Perched above a picturesque vineyard and featuring both period and cutting edge modern buildings this is certainly the finest of hotels. Our 90sqm room was perfectly dressed, quiet and comfortable with the most extraordinary distant views down the valley towards scenic mountains. The rooms themselves are laid out either side of an external planted pergola dressed avenue so slightly unusual but great for room privacy and luxury. The art and architecture is of the highest quality throughout the site and is sure to excite art lovers. The site features architecture by Renzo Piano, Ai WeiWei, Tracey Emin, Tando Ando, plus many others and hundreds of original stunning pieces of art throughout. We ate in the Italian restaurant which did not disappoint. The time of year meant that the weather was cool, crisp and clear. About 15 mins from Aix which is an attractive medium size town, and around 30 mins to Marseilles. Service exemplary. Design and attention second to none. We had been blessed to have stayed in one of the finest hotels in northern Spain two years ago, and then a superlative converted monastery in Amalfi Italy last year. This was the perfect French response to those and we are confident that this is one of the best, if not the best French rural hotel. A bit tricky to find the actual hotel - clue - you have to drive through and past the art/ wine centre and Auberge hotel - some simple signs would not go amiss. But the artistry, imagination and beauty of the site and landscaping are breathtaking. We did not take the wine tour or get to enjoy the other restaurants during our trip but maybe next time. We did the art tour which was a delight with several world class art galleries plus a full size Bob Dylan railway car sculpture which is not to be missed. Overall beyond stunning and a relaxing personalised stay. Not to be missed.

Un très beau lieu à visiter avec un personnel très pro

Une très belle expérience ce midi au restaurant, nous nous sommes régalés. Mention spéciale pour la jeune femme brune en salle qui s'est parfaitement occupée de nous, ainsi que le reste de l'équipe aux petits soins, et le monsieur côté bar qui a pris le temps de nous expliquer l'origine du Vermouth que nous avions choisi. Tout était parfait, les plats magnifiques et délicieux, nous avons passé un excellent moment. Un grand Merci.
