For vegan options, I expected plates created by the chef. But since I was suggested only "some cooked vegetables", I opted for a vegetarian dish but left out the protein, which was not replaced by anything. Paid full price though. It was good but not worth it

Risotto nero war ein Klumpen und die hier so gelobte Fischsuppe war als wir dort waren nicht mit dem vergleichbar, was man sonst in Südfrankreich bekommt

This place was amazing. We went twice without a reservation and the staff were great at finding us a table both times. The food was superb, the waiters really friendly and the location was just far enough away from the tourist area to be more relaxed.

This restaurant delivered an abysmal experience due to its shockingly poor service and terrible customer treatment.
Unacceptable Service and Hostile Customer Treatment
The moment I asked for a table, the tone was set by incredibly poor service. I was made to feel like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. My server—or whoever was taking care of us—was the absolute worst! They flat-out refused to serve us, and their aggressive, disrespectful tone showcased truly hostile customer treatment.
In summary, if you're looking to be mistreated and verbally abused by a waiter, effectively ruining your outing, then this is definitely the place to go.

This place gives you the French seaside town bistro fantasy in a cute alley away from the blatantly touristy seafront so while the food was mid and expensive in my opinion, it didn’t matter. The boullibasse was watery, the seafood risotto bland and crunchy, and the calamari soggy, but I bet every place you can walk into would have similar if not identical food. You’re in Cassis, life is good, don’t sweat it too much.

Etwas lange Wartezeiten. Freundlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit haben noch Luft nach oben. Preis-Leistung eher im unteren Drittel. Da gibt es bessere Alternativen in der Nähe.

A VERY BAD experience. I went with my parents, we had just eaten and we heard this restaurant had a very good dish. We asked for a table, ordered 3 drinks and 2 dishes to share. Our server got mad and said: "I won't serve you 2 dishes to share. I am not sitting 4 customers because of you 3 and you want to share 2 dishes? I am not serving you that" (Note that the dishes we were ordering were 30 euros + .... plus drinks and potentially ordering something else and coming back of course)

Une expérience HORRIBLE.... Je suis allée avec mes perents pour commander 2 des assiettes très connues. On a commandé 3 boissons et 2 repas (30 euros × chaque) pour les goûter et retourner avec le reste de la famille apres (on venait tout juste de manger ailleurs) Le serveur était visiblement fâché et il nous a dit: Je pourrait asseoir 4 personnes à votre table et vous allez commander pour partager?, Non, je ne vais pas vous servir"
On est partie, dommage car on pensait retourner avec le reste de la famille pour manger leur "fameux" assiette.

MUY MALA esperiencia. Fui con mis padres y pedimos 3 bebidas y 2 platos para compartir (aprox 30 euros) queríamos probar un plato famoso que sirven ellos. Veníamos de comer y queríamos probar para volver con el resto de la familia. El mesonero se molestó mucho y nos dijo: "Estoy dejando de sentar 4 clientes en esa mesa y ids quieren compartir?... Pues no les voy a servir"
Por supuesto nos fuimos y no volveremos

Das Restaurant bietet eine schöne Atmosphäre – man sitzt wirklich angenehm. Die Vorspeise, eine Fischsuppe, war sehr gut und vielversprechend. Leider konnten die Hauptgerichte da nicht mithalten: Sowohl das Risotto als auch das Steak waren von der Portion her überdimensioniert, aber geschmacklich eher enttäuschend. Und obwohl die Portion Fleisch groß war, waren die Beilagen sehr knapp – im Kartoffelgratin waren überraschend wenige Kartoffeln. Insgesamt leider unausgewogen.

美味しかった！
前菜のイカのフライはカリカリ、白身魚のソテーは身がフワフワで付け合わせの野菜も最高！
ブイヤベースは前日予約が多いので、このレストランでブイヤベース風のスープを食べましたが、魚介が沢山入っていて美味しかったです。
ワインもお勧めの地元のワインを出してもらい、大満足でした！
予約をお勧めします。途中何人か満席でお断りされていました。

Authentic and unforgettable bouillabaisse experience.

We came for the bouillabaisse — and it blew us away. Deep, rich broth, perfectly cooked seafood, and flavors that stick with you. Easily one of the best dishes we had during our entire trip. We were literally eating with our fingers — that good.

On the flip side, the risotto didn’t land for us. Undercooked and underwhelming — definitely not the strong point of the kitchen. But the bouillabaisse? Absolutely worth the visit alone.

Bonus: the staff were lovely and genuinely welcoming. You feel taken care of without any pretension.

???? Will revisit — just skip the risotto and go straight for the sea.

In this restaurant, you get such wonderful French food, so that you forget everything around you. Incredibly friendly, attentive and nice service and a very nice ambience, cosy and pleasant. Did I mention how fantastic the food was?

Nous confirmons les commentaires élogieux précédents, avec des plats raffinés et copieux ; un Tian relevé et goûtu, et un Loup aux palourdes juste divin. Nous avons simplement regretté de ne plus avoir faim pour goûter les desserts qui semblaient aussi succulents que le reste de la carte. Service agréable tout comme le lieu joliment arrangé.

Our serendipitous discovery of Restaurant Calendal in Cassis turned out to be the highlight of our day trip. Despite arriving without a reservation, we were warmly welcomed by the waiter who graciously seated us outside. Despite being the sole server, he provided attentive and friendly service, taking the time to guide us through the menu board with patience and expertise. Our highlight from the menu were grilled sea bass, octopus pasta, and mussels, each dish bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. Every bite was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to quality ingredients. We left thoroughly satisfied and grateful for stumbling upon this hidden gem. I highly recommend Restaurant Calendal to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in Cassis.
