While L’Arlatan is undeniably beautiful and thoughtfully designed, with a warm atmosphere, my overall experience was unfortunately marred by a major issue that went unresolved.
During my stay in Room 3, I was kept awake for much of the night by loud, persistent banging noises and disturbances from adjacent rooms, heavy foot traffic around the stairwell, and additional noise from outside the building. It wasn’t an isolated incident or limited to a single disruptive guest—it was a consistent and widespread issue that made it nearly impossible to get any rest.
I brought this up at checkout and followed up by email to formally request a partial refund, as the disturbance significantly impacted the comfort and quality of my stay. The hotel responded politely but declined any compensation, stating that the issue should have been reported during the night so that staff could intervene.
I find this response unreasonable. It’s not realistic to expect guests to get dressed and come down to the front desk in the middle of the night, especially when the noise is not caused by one identifiable source. At a hotel of this level, soundproofing, night staff attentiveness, and basic guest comfort should be prioritized without requiring guests to escalate situations in real time just to be acknowledged.
Sadly, despite the charm of the property, I wouldn’t return, knowing that valid guest concerns—even when respectfully raised—are met with hollow apologies rather than meaningful accountability.

Service déplorable. Des menteurs qui prétendent avoir le restaurant booké pour eviter que les gens ne prennent qu un apéritif. Le personnel n est pas du tout à la hauteur de ce lieu charmant.

Decoração muito interessante. Restaurante com menu sem graça. Não vale a pena comer no restaurante.

Service à la limite de la courtoisie…
Plat: thonine, sauce escarbeche, odeur nauséabonde, goût infâme… l’une de nous l’a à peine entamé.. je l’ai terminé mais craignant d’être malade, ce qui fut le cas pour 2 d’entre nous (nous aurions dû d’emblée refuser le plat… la politesse nous en a probablement empêchés..?) Nous avons signalé notre mécontentement … pas un mot d’excuse…. Restaurant à éviter absolument
