Amazing staff - everyone was so nice and helpful. I forgot my laptop charger and they found me one. There is also a dedicated unloading / offloading parking spot in front of the hotel. I felt that everything was easy and smooth. The decor is super charming and thr modernist paintings are created by the owner’s father which add to the charm. The location is unbeatable. Also great value for money.

Petit hôtel tenu par un gardien sympathique. Situé en cœur de ville à deux rues du cours Mirabeau. Nous avons eu la chance d’arriver vendredi soir. Samedi matin les rues d’Aix sont envahies par le marché qui occupe thématiquement toute la ville.

Hotel benchè classificato come due stelle non ha nulla di meno di quelli della categoria immediatamente superiore. La sua posizione è su una strada tranquilla di Aix en Provence a soli 5 minuti di cammino dall'inizio della zona pedonale. Struttura dal carattere romantico con mobili antichi, camera confortevole anche se non di grandissime dimensioni, un bagno grande e la colazione servita con vasellame di argento. Staff gentilissimo. Avevo chiesto una camera con una buona vista ed hanno accolto positivamente il nostro desiderio. Parcheggio possibile effettuarlo in strada pagando il parcometro con abbuono della prima ora e mezza.

Rapport qualité prix très intéressant dans un hôtel un peu old school mais avec un vrai tempérament. On est loin de la froide norme des chaînes.

Great location in the old part of Aix at a quiet road with minimum traffic. Very close to the main attractions and the railway/bus station. The room was beautiful and spacious with great style and decoration and the bathroom was big too. Very clean and we also had a small balcony. thankfully, there is also an elevator even though the building is old. Very friendly staff, helpful and they speak English.

Charmantes Hotel in sehr guter Lage mit plüschiger, antiker Einrichtung. Sehr nettes und zuvorkommendes Personal. Das Zimmer war geräumig und sauber. Das optionale Frühstück haben wir nicht eingenommen. In nächster Nähe gibt es aber viele Bäckereien, wo man frühstücken kann.

Beautiful location and building. Clean enough rooms. The shower was not usable as it had to be held in one hand to operate (rather than being attached to the wall).

Il servizio della reception è stato molto attento ed entusiasta. La camera era pulita, molto confortevole e silenziosa! La posizione è molto buona, ma se avete una macchina più grande bisogna fare molta attenzione perché la strada da cui provenite è un po' stretta e girare è molto impegnativo.

We booked a Superior Room, and we found ourselves in a thoughtfully appointed apartment with a private yard with fountains! Such a magical place! The main room was large, clean, and very comfortable. There was a nice bathroom with tub, and the kitchen had everything you could need. The location is convenient to everything - historical sites, shopping, grocery, etc...The bed was large and comfortable, and the couch made into a single bed if needed. It was so very enjoyable to come back to this welcoming apartment and especially the backyard - it was lush and green with plants, trees, pots with flowers, and fountains! Just idyllic and beautiful. We were there for 3 nights, but had we known how homey it would be and how pleasant Aix-en-Provence is, we would have booked several weeks. We really wished we could stay forever.

The interior design of the hotel was really beautiful. Old and antique furniture makes you feel in a different atmosphere. All the employees were very friendly and caring. Being close to the city center provides additional comfort. Thank you Hotel Cardinal!! ????

It’s the worse experience I ever had with all the hotels in France. I don’t feel at all respected. The way they talk to me made me really bad about myself.
I think the workers there don’t care about the reputation of the hotel. It’s just a job for them.

Charmant hôtel calme et très bien situé. Petit déjeuner copieux servi avec style. Un hôtel avec de la personnalité et un bon accueil. Notre chambre située dans un bâtiment à 2 pas était vaste et avait un charme particulier. Le tout en restant simple et de bon goût.

We enjoyed our week in Aix while staying at the Hotel Cardinal. The hotel location was terrific, our room was well appointed and full of character. We were fortunate to have a room with a kitchen and table overlooking the square at the Musee Granet and Eglise Saint Jean de Malte. The market shops on Rue d'Italie made shopping for the occaisional breakfast and dinner a pleasure. ||Jardin Mazarin was our best dining experience, by the way.||Navigating to Parking Mignet Garage was convenient enough...a couple blocks away and another reason to travel light. Driving in Aix, or rather around Aix on the Boulevard du Roi Rene ring was challenging at first and provided a small sense of accomplishment....as was driving in the mountains. ||Hotel Cardinal was a great base for our visit to Aix.

Spent three nights at the hotel while exploring Aix and I absolutely loved it, would recommend it and absolutely would stay again.||Location is just outside of Centre Ville but easy walk to the shops, restaurants and getting lost in the charming city streets. Street is quiet too and clean.||Hotel itself is outdated (ashtrays in the elevators!) but honestly it’s so charming and step back in time, it felt very appropriate for Aix. ||WiFi signal was fine overall but became more volatile near the end of my stay. Bed was pretty comfortable and bathroom had good water pressure.||Air con was in my room too and worked well overall. It wasn’t too hot when I was there but was still nice to have at night. ||Rooms are also a very good size for Europe and my double room would have been comfortable for two people (but happily it was just for me). ||For a two star hotel, I was really surprised by this property and was bummed to leave. ||Staff is nice but depending who you get, they’re not super helpful with recommendations or things around the city. But that was fine for me because it’s not a big enough city to go wrong on choices.

Beautiful view of the nearby church from my room. Room was small but I was by myself so it was absolutely perfect to me. Location was amazing too, just a few blocks away from tons of shops. I was also able to be there when the market was happening, so that was also a lot of fun.

Un hotel avec énormément de charme, dont les murs sont couverts de magnifiques tableaux, y compris dans les chambres, donnant ľenvie ďy retourner juste pour découvrir ce que chacune ďentre elles renferment. J'y ai séjourné à Noël où les crêches de santons qui parsèmment les couloirs et le magnifique sapin qui nous acceuille à ľentrée sans parler des décorations extérieures qui le soir éclaire la rue ne font qu'augmenter ľattrait du lieu.

Chambres désuétement adorables avec tout le confort souhaitable.
Bilan tout parfait et un excellent rapport qualité/prix. Prêts à revenir quand l'occasion se présentera. Attention : l'adresse semble connue et les fidèles sont au rendez-vous. Réservez tôt.
07/2025 : toujours un séjour sans anicroche ! Parfait sur tous les plans. Belle chambre fort agréable. Tout près du musée Granet (expo Cézanne) et de l'hôtel Caumont (charmant jardin, expo Nikki de Saint Phalle). Que rêver de mieux ?
