Nous avons dîné au restaurant 'gastronomique'. Les cadres extérieurs et intérieurs sont magnifiques. En revanche, coté restaurant il y a un décalage par rapport au lieu.
Les plats étaient simples, le goût peu marqué, pas de relief et pas d'équilibre. Ce n'est pas à la hauteur du chef Gagnaire.
Quand au service, très médiocre par rapport au cadre également. Nous avons attendu 1h entre chaque étape (entrée, plat, dessert simplement). Très déçu, nous ne reviendrons pas.

Very nice hotel, very comfortable but rather small rooms and amazing breakfast. Only downside is the service at the swimming pool, the young employees have no idea what they are doing. Empty plates and glasses are not removed, used towels are on the ground etc..
Also would have liked to have a turn down service at night in the room, it is what you would expect in a 5* hotel at this price..

Насмотревшись красивых картинок, не обольщайтесь, отель ценит деньги превыше всего, на гостей с их обстоятельствами наплевать, душа здесь отсутствует.
Жаль, что не обратили внимание на негативные отзывы при бронировании, например на тот, где людям не дали жить вместе с ребенком в оплаченном номере и заставили докупать номер более высокой категории или те отзывы, в которых жалуются на отсутствие не то, что кофемашины, чайника в номерах! Жадность здесь правит балом.
При возникновении независящих от нас обстоятельств отель не пошёл на встречу ни в какую (мы писали письма за 10 дней) предложив лишь выгодные для них же условия, которые для нас были неосуществимы, и дав 12 часов на раздумья, при том, что дальше менеджер отсутствовала !2 дня! в будние дни.
Не делайте наших ошибок и хорошенько подумайте прежде, чем платить деньги и ехать сюда, обратите внимание на негативные отзывы. Мы все люди и поступать нужно по-человечески, здесь об этом не слышали.

Une simple visite m'a donné l'envie d'en savoir plus. Un accueil courtois nous invitant à faire le tour du parc, piscine, plusieurs terrasses, verdure, sculptures, architecture, tout y est pour se plaire ici. Cet exterieur agréable nous laisse sur notre faim: l'envie d'en profiter.
Nous envisagerons un repas au restaurant lors de notre prochaine venue à Aix, de manière a rendre la note plus globale.

Probably one of the most extraordinary hotels I’ve stayed at so far.

Not just because the interior and rooms look amazing, but mostly due to the extremely attentive staff. It’s honestly the small things that alter how you feel while staying at a hotel. They remember your favorite order, recall your dog’s name (who was welcomed just as warmly as any other guest), they place small water bottles in your car when the valet brings it up for a short trip to a vineyard. All of that, and so much more, makes you feel relaxed and welcomed.

Belle découverte. Les chambres sont dignes d'un 5 étoiles et la table signée Gagnaire est excellente. Le chef est particulièrement sympathique et communique sa bonne humeur à l'ensemble de l'équipe en cuisine. Les plats sont excellents et le petit déjeuner est prometteur d'une très belle journée. This hotel was absolutely incredible. The decor, service, staff all were top notch!

The bed was so comfortable, and I loved the sheets. Though there was no top sheet (something none of the hotels we stayed in in France had) I was able to call and have one delivered quickly.

A special thanks to Benjamin and Quentin with the concierge team! I had quite a few requests to be arranged, and everything happened seamlessly. The response time was also very quick.

I really liked how the breakfast service was run. It was a buffet style, yet prior to being seated, your beverage and additional orders were taken. It made for very quick service.

The hotel grounds were beautiful, and it was a quick walk into town.

We will absolutely stay here again the next time we are in the area.

Repas au restaurant de la villa saint ange avec ma femme nous avons décidé de prendre le menu festif en 4 temps, deux entrées plats et desserts. Accueillis avec un verre de champagne offert pour les fêtes et des amuses bouches assez surprenant et délicieux mention spéciale à la banane givrée. Le repas a été un enchaînement de bonne surprise accompagné par un service de très grande qualité. Que ce soit les serveurs ou le sommelier tout le monde était d’une gentillesse incroyable, les plats et les vins de l’accord plats vins bien expliqués.
Quand au cadre c’est peut être mon seul regret ne pas avoir pu en profité plus, l’intérieur est magnifique mais l’extérieur a l’air tout simplement incroyable, un petit écrin de verdure à quelques kilomètres du centre d’Aix. Je pense que nous y retournerons l’été.
En tout cas pour les amateurs de restaurant d’exception n’hésitez pas.

Villa Saint Ange was one of the better hotels we stayed at on our Honeymoon trip this summer. In most ways, it was a perfect hotel, but it missed the mark in a couple small ways.

The good: I believe this is the most beautiful hotel we've stayed at in France (and we've stayed at quite a few). The attention to detail in the rooms was unparalleled. You truly feel as though you're staying in an old, regal townhome in Aix, but with modern amenities. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and the bathroom was lovely. The grounds are also impeccably maintained. The pool area is stunning. Whoever designed this hotel deserves major kudos.

The restaurant was also excellent. We ate a lot of great meals in Aix, but our meal at Villa Saint Ange was the best. The food was delicious - sophisticated but still paid homage to its unfussy provencal roots. The service was great, and the wine pairings perfectly matched each course. Breakfast was also delicious.

The downsides were few, but noticeable. The service in general was a little spotty and impersonal. Most of the staff were very young, and very few of them spoke English - this was not a big issue for us as I speak French, but we noticed other English-speaking guests having issues. Service by the pool was spotty. It was blisteringly hot one of the days we were there and for almost an hour, no one came by the pool to take drink orders. This was not a staffing issue - there were at least half a dozen staff inside at the bar chatting and/or glued to their phones. This was also the only hotel on our trip that made absolutely no mention of our honeymoon. Every other hotel had a little something in our room, made some small mention, etc. The lack of coffee/Nespresso maker in the room was also a surprise - I can't remember the last time I stayed at a French hotel without one. There's also no real spa - treatments are done by outside technicians in a small room next to the gym. None of these downsides are dealbreakers, but this is the most expensive hotel in Aix by a pretty wide margin, so it's tough to not nitpick a bit.

Overall, this is a great hotel and worth the stay, just don't expect the service/amenities to be in line with the price point.

One of the best restaurant in town. In just a couple of years Villa Saint Ange has positioned itself at the top of the best places to eat in Aix. It is a beautifully renovated bastide located 5 min away (walking) from the historic center. Both the inside and the outside provide a great experience. The Gagnaire supervised “cuisine” is at par with a starred restaurant : leveraging local specialties and produces it is original and tasty. The same applies to the wine list and the wine pairing option. The service is also top class; there is really nothing to complain about…

Truly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel. The staff was amazing and the property is beautiful. Will definitely return to this hotel in the future!

Je vais souvent dans des hôtels en pleines semaines une ou deux nuits histoires de me reposer et ben la j’ai eu ce que je voulais.
Question prix : cher forcément mais on en a pour son argent donc c’est honnête.

Endroit superbe, service agréable, mets fin, délicieux... Les prix sont forcément un peu élevés mais justifiés et le rapport qualité/prix est très favorable. Un bon moment a passer à 2 en amoureux ou plus

This is one of the most expensive hotels in Aix-en-Provence and we booked it mainly for the big pool and beautiful rooms intending to spend most of the time in the hotel relaxing. Unfortunately, the hotel did not live up to the 5-star hotel experience we are used to receiving at this price range.

First of all, the staff is very nice and those who had to listen to our complaints showed understanding. It is rather the hotel management and their strategy that made our stay unpleasant.

Upon arriving we were told that we cannot dine at the restaurant, because it was already booked out. We were therefore offered the option of dining in the room with room service instead. Since there was no other option and we were quite tired to start searching for choices outside of the hotel, we had dinner in the room. We clearly expressed our expectation that this must not repeat on the next day. After checking multiple times with the reception it was again not possible to have dinner at the restaurant the next day as well.

So we ended up in the situation paying around 1000 EUR/night without breakfast being told the only option to have dinner as a guest of this luxury 5-star wonderful hotel would be to have it in our room again. The room service menu is basically the same as the menu at the pool and consists of club sandwich and Caesar salad. The food is not covered when delivered to the room...never seen something like this at this price range. I also don't know who can eat this kind of menu day after day. At the same time we see people arriving by taxi from outside to go to the only restaurant of the hotel we are actually guests of. So, the standard sentence we heard when complaining about the situation was, that we have received a link per email long before our arrival and we should have made a reservation for the restaurant at least one week in advance. So, basically it was our fault, that we were not aware of the situation at the hotel and the occupancy of their only special low capacity restaurant and we should have booked via that link. Honestly, this feels like a cheap low-cost airline and not a 5-star hotel experience.

One thing to add is that after really countless discussions, the restaurant manager offered an option to squeeze us in if we were to arrive much earlier and have less time for dinner. So thank you at least for this option! We were kind of tired of all this at the end and did not want to stress ourselves anymore. There are plenty of options in town, just we were uncertain about the safety at night initially, because the street outside looks like if you were in Morocco.

The hotel is definitely too expensive for what it is and what it offers as included, given also the small property size, lack of view and the location at the main graveyard. We have seen much better in France and of course around the world within this price range. As many people already mention in their reviews, the prices of beverages are quite exaggerated. We were surprised to find out that one of the most famous hotels in St. Tropez, with magnificent views over the bay, has actually lower prices. Furthermore, if you are a coffee person, do not expect to find a coffee machine with coffee available for you in your room. It is a management decision not to have this privilege. You will have to order it extra, wait and pay for it. Feels just like a 5-star hotel.

In case all of the above does not matter, I guess the hotel can be recommended as a very nice place to stay. The deluxe rooms are indeed amazing, just don't try to stop the air conditioning, this doesn't bring anything.
