My husband and I spent the last two nights of our French vacation here, and though we stayed in several 5-star properties on our trip, Villa Amara was absolutely the best. Lilli is a magnificent hostess, kind, vivacious, knowledgeable, and meticulous about cleanliness and quality. The villa is in a very private and secure setting, away from the street next to a park, yet it is only a block or two from “old Aix” with its many restaurants, shops, bars and markets. Our suite was quite large, lovely, and comfortable, with great A/C and a well-equipped, small kitchen. Lilli’s breakfasts in the garden beside the pool were a peaceful and delicious way to start the day. We happily could live at Villa Amara for a couple of weeks – maybe next time we will!

Emplacement unique au centre d’Aix, une très belle bâtisse, un joli jardin avec une superbe piscine, une suite luxueuse ( La Sécrète ) pleine de charme qui est très bien agencée. Bref un séjour 5 étoiles. Merci à Lilly propriétaire de ce lieu d exception avec qui nous avons passé un très bon moment

My daughter and I recently enjoyed a short stay at Villa Amara and we wish we could have stayed longer! Lilli was a superb host and she has created a beautiful place to stay in Aix to use as a base to explore the town and the region. The beautifully decorated apartment suite had everything we needed including a LOT of space, well kitted-out kitchenette and a helpful information book with maps, local attractions etc. The Villa itself is absolutely gorgeous, set back from the street in peaceful and beautiful gardens. The location is superb - just a five minute stroll into the centre of town but easily accessible by car (with parking) which is no small thing in a Provençal town! We hope to return one day. Highly recommend.

We loved the space. It felt very comfortable. And Lilli was perfect, friendly, helpful, and with great advice. We felt at home. And the property was beautiful.||Parking is convenient, near the street just inside the front gates, so it's protected but open.

Une suite raffinée qui révèle un espace de vie pratique et approprié aussi bien à un court séjour qu’à un long temps de repos et de sérénité.
De la, à pied, on se projette rapidement à travers les ruelles piétonnes dans une ville riche de qualités culturelles et commerciales.
Puis en voiture, on s’échappe facilement pour rayonner vers des sites provençaux emblématiques comme la Montagne Sainte Victoire ou le château La Coste….. Nous reviendrons dès que possible.

We have had the pleasure of staying in many charming locations during our Tour de France, but Villa Amara may have topped them all. The location, attention to detail, decor, and overall quality of the space were complemented by the owner, who immediately made us feel as if she were an old friend. Stay a week, buy wine, cheese, and croissants in the market, and make yourself at home.

It was an absolute joy to spend some time in the lovely Villa Amara. Starting with the warm welcome of our gracious and charming hosts, walking through the almost Zen like tranquility of the forecourt and pool/koi pond and then walking into our suite which, frankly, knocked our socks off. Not only is the floor plan crafted for livability, the bathroom/toilet exquisitely tasteful yet practical in design, but the whole living space is simply a delight to spend time in. Attention has been given to the smallest details including, but not limited to, lighting, choice of bed linens and area throw rugs, and an idiot proof kitchen and flat screen television with an all inclusive selection of entertainment. ||A whole book could also be written about the location and its ease of access to “all things Aix” , but suffice it to say we are looking forward with great delight to our next visit!

A gem of a place to stay. So conveniently situated – all Aix attractions are accessible on foot. Our suite, the Estivale, was spacious and impeccable. Beautifully decorated and intelligently arranged. You could comfortably live there. We were greeted so graciously and offered the guidance and advice that made our stay in the area that much more memorable. Aix is a great town for eating and shopping and culture of all sorts. We visited Saint Remy/Les Baux as well as Moustiers during our stay, and with our host’s guidance, discover the unexpected charms of Marseille.

Truly delighted with the elegance, comfort, and proximity of this place. Thank you very much for the feeling of true Provence. It was an experience to remember. I would definitely recommend Villa Amara to our friends. We would come back to Aix just to stay here again.

To describe this place in a nutshell: a luxurious bed & breakfast that is centrally located.
To elaborate: Run by a most gracious host, Lilli, you will be hard pressed to leave this haven of tranquility. Everything you need has been noted and thought of; whenever Lilli asked if we needed anything, I really couldn’t think of anything at all.

Here are a few more notes:

• Breakfast is served for an additional but reasonable cost. Everything served is organic, from the bread to the almond butter. It is still very French, with croissants and yogurt, but you have the option to request other items like boiled eggs and whole wheat bread (best to request in advance of your arrival). This worked great for my partner & I, as I am the yogurt & fruit type, and he’s the eggs and toast type.

• Our room, Le Imperiale, was tastefully decorated and well laid out. Everything was easy to use, including the thermostat, lights, and smart TV. There is central air conditioning in the rooms, and it actually works! The shower was glorious, I didn’t want to get out of it. We didn’t get to use the bathtub but it looked very inviting. The bed was very comfortable, we slept very well. No robes, but slippers are provided. I love a good robe, but I managed just fine without.

• Parking is free and secured behind an electronic gate.

• Each room has a small but fully equipped kitchen, including a separate wine fridge, electric cooktop, kettle & Nespresso (ask for a small carafe of milk), and ice in the freezer. Oh and organic olive oil & vinegar, should you need it. There’s even a woven shopping basket for you to take to the local markets.

• The pool is lovely, surrounded by live koi and lotus flowers. Lounge chairs and towels provided.

Upon leaving you’ll need a big hug from Lilli, because she really makes this villa shine and you’ll miss her the most. She is responsive via text message, speaks French & English beautifully, and wants you to enjoy your stay in her home. Don’t think twice about booking this gorgeous villa, this gem will soon be too popular to keep up with demand.
