We had lunch at Grenache, a restaurant we visit each year when we are in Aix-en-Provence. They managed to out-do the food compared to last year, when it was great already. Very fresh dishes, beautifully laid-out and with great service. We hope to come back for many more years

Lovely setting on a summer's evening outside (though it got a bit dark as the authority did not turn on the street lamps). Good value 3-course set menu for 49 euros. Courgette atop ricotta on terrific flaky pastry was a thoroughly pleasing starter, followed by well-cooked octopus on a bed of avocado. The financier was amazing and full of almond flavour. The rest of the dessert with not so sweet cubes of melon was unfortunately rather bland in comparison. Great service by the friendly staff especially the sommelier.
