Great cozy spot with not many if any people passing by. Service is very polite, food was executed very nice and it lived up to standard expectations. Altough it gives out a fine dinning looks, this is not fine dinning restaurant but they do focus on plate presentation. Service is friendly and casual so dont expect every single aspect of your dinner to be on a michelin star level like some people in reviews expect. All-around great spot for a slow dinner date!

We had the most amazing experience - the 2,5 hours went by in a blink of an eye! The atmosphere was so cozy, we instantly at home. The food was not just delicious but full of surprises and unexpected turns. The attention to the small detail makes this place stand out from the many places nearby. Bravo to the chef and team. We will definitely come back again.

La Belle Etoile is truly a jewel in what is already a stunning village. Without a reservation, I arrived at the restaurant at opening to take what openings I could after a recommendation from a local. The staff were amazing and had a table for 4 available at 8pm available. The food, staff, wine and service were impeccable. Their recommendations were spot on and all four of us had an amazing night. I highly recommend either La Belle Etoile or their Bistro further up the hill, if you’re ever lucky enough to find a table and be in Villefranche-Sur-Mer! Thanks for such an enjoyable night.

We had the tasting menu (€75 per person) and what a surprise! The service was impeccable, they were open to making adjustment for a dietary restriction in the tasting menu, and a plus was a non-alcoholic sparkling wine (not very common in these areas!).

My husband and I dined here for the third time (the last visit was a year ago), and we were quite disappointed this time. We chose the tasting menu and indulged in several drinks, bringing our bill close to 300 euros. Unfortunately, the food was merely average this time - while none of the six dishes were bad, I wouldn’t order most of them again.

Adding to our disappointment was the service. The woman responsible for bookings was extremely rude to us throughout our dinner. In our previous experiences, we were always offered limoncello as a complimentary gesture after our meal, likely due to our choice of the tasting menu and ordering champagne, which has typically resulted in a high bill. However, this time, two other tables were asked if they would like limoncello, while we were not given the same courtesy. When we inquired about it, the server said, “Oh yes, I would be happy to offer it to you,” but it felt insincere. If you’re going to offer a complimentary drink, please do so for all customers; the exclusion was quite noticeable and left a bad impression.

Given these experiences, I don’t foresee returning.

The location and atmosphere is great. The staff were very friendly and professional. They were great with kids.

And the food was great. The risotto, the mahi-mahi dish, the zucchini with cheese, etc were all amazing. Will definitely go back again.

Reservation is required.

Oh my if I lived in the area I would be there every day. Outstanding, delicious food and service. The small staff, chef and kitchen and service provider hustle. Outside terrace eating is quintessential. Inside table seating is exquisite. The food is top shelf and not too big of a hit on the wallet. We paid a lot more for comparable food, setting in Nice. Love the location, love the decor, loved the service and food. You can't miss at La Belle Etoile.

We had high hopes for Belle Étoile as it was recommended by our hotel, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The highlight of the evening was the exceptional service by Bushra — warm, attentive, and professional.

As for the food, the starters were decent but nothing memorable. The main course was a letdown — the fish was overcooked on the outside and undercooked inside. Even the bread served was very basic, lacking the quality you’d expect from a restaurant of this caliber.

Overall, aside from the great service, the dining experience fell short of expectations.

Simply put, this meal was divine and decadent, a feast for the senses and a new core memory unlocked. Everything from the amuse-bouche and starters of asparagus and crème brûlée foie gras, to the duck entree and dessert of crème brûlée and lemon strawberry cake was balanced and full of flavor. Each bite was savored and enjoyed. I highly recommend to anyone interested in a true culinary experience.

Le poulpe, qui n'est pas le produit de la mer le plus évident à travailler, est ici servi croustillant, frais, tendre (pas pâteux ni spongieux), un pur bonheur que ce repas de 2025 à la Belle Etoile, tandis qu'en 2024, faute d'avoir réservé ici, on nous avait dirigé un peu plus haut vers le Bistrot de l'Etoile où nous étions ressortis, là aussi, des plus satisfaits, notamment pour la parfaite maîtrise de la cuisson des légumes (pois, courgettes) qui n'étaient pas seulement là pour faire de la figuration ou la décoration.

Beautiful little restaurant with a very charming terrace nestled in a quiet street of the old town. Owned by the passionate couple Manuel (the talented chef) and his lovely wife Tamara (the gracious hostess) this place is a true hidden treasure. The elegant decor, relaxed ambience, attentive and friendly service, exceptional food, with a changing menu featuring quality seasonal and localy sourced ingredients, paired with a great wine list, never fails to impress. We have dined here on multiple occasions and each time it was a truly delightful experience. We can't wait to return again!

Cozy sit down place. They have their own take on the items. Im forgetting exactly the names of the dishes we tried. Everything was good and made fresh. I gave a 4 star instead of 5 because one of the dishes couldve used a little more seasoning. Nothing major but good food overall. Creme burlee is also very tasty.
