MAYBOURNE LA PLAGE

There is much to be learned for this place, especially given the high prices they charge for the area of France. You pay for the atmosphere, but it’s not much to pay for…

We had reserved specific beds, but they were given away to others. We picked out new ones, and everything was fine until an hour later when they started putting extra beds up to accommodate a family right in front of us blocking our view. The beach staff did a good job fixing the situation to their ability, but we had to complain first. They went the extra mile to fix it, especially Benjamin. Although it was a rough start, they fixed it and we moved on.

Until we went for lunch, which was terrible. Our starter/snack was forgotten twice, but it eventually arrived. At lunch in the restaurant, the food was utterly disappointing. We didn't complain any further. Mauro, the chef of Mirazur, signed the menu, but it seems he just sold his name. If you charge on average 50 euro for a dish (and uphill for many things), it needs to meet some standard. The food here was far below it—overcooked, uninspiring, and overpriced for what you get.

All in all, it's one of the most beautiful spots on this part of the coast, and the water is pristine. The beach staff really cares, which makes it all the more of a shame that it didn't work out. We go to many beach places every year, and this one is just not worth it. It seems management made this place happen for as little investment as possible, which is a pity since it's now part of the new hotel in Monaco. We had hoped it would make a difference.

In summary, the quality of the beds is not worth the price (150 euros per person, including a minimum spend of 70 euros). The food is definitely not a reason to go here. The selection of champagnes and wines is standard. small but fine, and all are priced at three times their retail value (a common practice here).

If you go, make sure to get a good spot so you don’t look at a vase and some old people instead of the water, and for sure don’t go for lunch.

Very disappointed. Returned to have a drink after having had a lovely dinner here last year with my mini Yorkie. Was told that I was not allowed with my Yorkie for a simple drink... Having come all this way to be told go away basically not welcome and last year were very welcoming is disapponting. My mini dog who may I add is only 3kg sits in my lap and makes no mess and is first time we get rejected from a beach bar.

As a regular at the Maybourne Rivera am very disappointed.

Excellent beach club, formerly known as La Cigale at Vista Beach. The Club is now run by the Maybourne hotel. Design is not as charming as it used to be and the food selections are not as exciting but the location is still great. Amazing views, excellent water access with super clear water, good food and very good staff. Limited activities for kids. Parking available along the street and valet service.
Overall one of the better beach clubs along the coast.

Magnifique ????

We needed a quick lunch due to an airport transfer. The staff could not have been more helpful. We started with the fish tacos ???? and the calamari and guacamole all delicious. For main course we had 4 Lobster ???? spaghetti’s ???? and 1 Octopus ???? salad which were all beautifully cooked. Finished off with Coffee all served and consumed within 45 minutes, perfect! ????????????????
